Gotcha. Yeah, I'll agree that first question is pretty subjective... thanks for the framerate drop answer though.

I actually went in to reserve this yesterday and apparently it's pulled for any reserves in Gamestop's computer. Sucks. But the manager told me he would set aside my copy anyway :)

I'm thinking this will be a hard one to nab. I mean, look at it this way:

1) It's a PSP game
2) It's related to a somewhat obscure PS2 game
3) It's being released by Atlus

Hmm...

You know the first question is something I don't like to answer for others since it's such a subjective answer, you know? Did you love Steambot Chronicles? This game is less open ended than that. I mean it's like mission after mission.

I haven't noticed any frame rate drops, but I haven't played any four player battles with other people which is where I imagine the frame rate will fall. In single player everything has been mostly OK. I guess I should try rapidly throwing trees to test this!

I don't know, I guess the main questions I have are:

1) Do you think the $39.99 price-point is justified?

2) From the small Japanese teaser-trailer, it seems as though there are quite a few frame-rate drops. Is this the case?

I played a little more, but this weekend I mostly played the US build of Badman and Mana Khemia 2.

to be honest i like the first game so much i was hoping for a ps3 steambot chronicles but this much better bc is on the go.

ps. i'm looking forward for dissidia,assassins creed, persona, gt, and LBP. so if anyone have any info please let me know

Funny that you mention load times. I haven't noticed them so they must not be that bad? They're not a nuisance like the PS2 game, but areas seems smaller too so you may load stuff more often.

The controls are totally different from the PS2 game, but they have an adapted “Vanilla” control scheme where the shoulder buttons are for the arms. I use “Apollo” the PSP control scheme which has the shoulder buttons to turn and face buttons for attack.

Christian B: If Crimson Gem Saga and Class of Heroes are any indication, you might not even have that long before it disappears. I still can't find a copy of CoH.

How are the load times, Spencer? That was kind of a buzzkill for the PS2 version of the game.

Thanks for the quick play impressions. I'm still curious on how well this transitioned to the PSP (i.e. the controls, gameplay elements, etc.). Not sure if it's worth $40 but I'm thinking this will be a game that will be around for two months then disappear..
