All right people, let’s take it from the top once more. So far, we have the following legendaries confirmed for the Pokémon Gold / Silver remakes: Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Ho-oh, Lugia, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Arceus and maaaaybe Celebi, given that there’s an event at Ilex Forest in the game.
Now we have confirmation of three more, one of whom I’m sure a lot of us will be rather pleased with. The new CoroCoro has revealed that Mewtwo, Latios and Latias will be in the game. Furthermore, Raikou, Entei and Suicune will all be at level 40 when you find them… and yes, you’ll still need to chase them across Johto like in the originals.
You’ll also be able to find the red Gyarados at the Lake of Rage once again at level 30. CoroCoro also confirmed that the radio will be returning as part of your Pokégear. It should be interesting to see if Game Freak have any new features planned for the device…there’s a lot of potential there, such as having different trainers (players) on the show, in a fashion similar to the TV segments from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.
This leaves us with Mew, Celebi, the legendary birds from Pokémon Red / Blue / Yellow, and the Regis. I’m willing to bet that at least two of those will be in the game as well.
We also saw a few touchscreen minigames, named Pokéathlon. These include a snowball fight, a “ring out” 3 vs 3 Pokémon battle, a trampoline bouncing game, and a track-and-field race during which you tap pokémon to jump. Custom stats such as Speed, Stamina, Power, Technique and Jump will factor into your pokémon’s performance during these events.
Update: There’s been a ton of fake HeartGold /SoulSilver news circulating in the past couple months. It seems Serebii is now saying that Mewtwo/Latios/Latias are not mentioned in their CoroCoro scans now. Take the post with a grain of salt for now, this could be a false alarm.
