Your Final Tales of Vs. Roster

We’re just a few weeks away from August 6, the day Tales of Vs. comes out in Japan. Before you import it check out the complete Yggdrasil mode roster. While Namco Bandai hasn’t “revealed” every character on the official site, scans from Famitsu filled in the gaps.

Unlike Dissidia: Final Fantasy there isn’t a healthy selection of villains. There’s Dhaos and… Dhaos.

Why is there a Harold listed under Phantasia?

I'd love to import this, but I'm still holding out for an English release! Namco-Bandai US is killing me! I want all three of the new tales games and haven't heard any word...

Rita is in the game, Harold is from Tales of Destiny 2 and Barbatos is a villain like Dhaos and it'll be the fist game both are playable, besides the fact that Richter is the antagonist in his original game even if he is playable in it. While there's a small villain roster, there isn't only one.

Dhaos and Barbatos were costumes in Narikiri Dungeon 3 I think, so you could use them there. Pretty sure all the bosses of the Tales games represented in ND3 had costumes.

I thought Reid from Tales of Eternia was confirmed after being seen in one of the pics for the Sprite fighter you could unlock.

The roster for Tales of Wallbreaker, the mini-game, is different from Tales of Vs.'s story mode. This list is just for the story mode.

I kind of wish Guy from Tales of the Abyss would be on there, but at least they finally included someone from Hearts and Legendia... and Rebirth. Wow, that's a first. I don't think anyone from those series have been in the Tales of World spinoffs.

On another note, I think that the reason there aren't any villains is that you never get to play as them. Not that that's a real excuse, but in Tales of it's at least possible for players to control any one of hte protagonists. Guess they didn't want to go developing new attack patterns and combos?...

This is a good point. It would take more work to think up moves, scale down sprites and balance them so they aren't unbelievably powerful either.

I was exaggerating, but it's funny how this is a fighting game composed mostly of heroes while other mascot games like Dissidia and Smash Brothers have a healthy balance.

Veigh and Eugene were in Tales of the World. Veigh oly as an NPC but Eugene could fight with you. Senel was in it too, and Luca and Iria are in the second Tales of the world. So they have been ^^
