Namco Bandai is finalizing a mobile phone version of Tales of Vs., which looks nothing like Tales of Vs.

Instead of selecting Tales icons you create and customize an original character. Players choose commands like attack, defend, technique, and counter before stepping out in the world to defend their country. A server keeps track of each country’s rank and saves your stats.

Your saved data can be shared with the PSP version of Tales of Vs. via a password system. Mobile phone data unlocks extra titles and character customization points on the PSP. Play Tales of Vs. on your PSP to unlock extra items and skits for the mobile phone release.

The mobile phone version of Tales of Vs. will come out later this month and carry a monthly fee of 525 yen.

Well, _this_ actually looks interesting. :D

Password systems are so unreliable. The moment this game hits the phones, passwords will be flying all over Gamefaqs, thus rendering the game itself obsolete…

Fascinating. I’d probably play the hell out of this.
