Endless Ocean 2 Scores High in Famitsu

The original Endless Ocean received a pretty high 35/40 in Famitsu, with the breakdown being 10/8/9/8. Endless Ocean 2, which includes cooperative online exploration and supports WiiSpeak has scored only a point higher but more consistently among its four reviewers. The game received a 9/9/9/9 (36/40). How apt, given the issue’s date.

Here’s scores for some other games you might like:

[DS] Saga II: Goddess of Destiny – 9/7/7/8
[DS] Idolm@ster: Dearly Stars – 7/8/8/7
[PS3] Tears to Tiara Gaiden: Mystery of Avalon – 6/6/7/7
[PS3] WET – 7/7/8/8
[Wii] House of the Dead: Overkill — 6/6/6/6 (Haha!)
[360] Velvet Assassin – 7/7/8/6

That Saga II score has gotten me curious. It’ll be interesting to see why there was such a contrast when the review summaries come in.

I don't really care about Famitsu, but it looks like they actually got the Overkill score just right. That game simply can't compare to the previous ones.

    yes, but IMO… it's better.

Sorry, but I really don't like it. Super low difficulty (and it's not like i could clear any of the previous games without using a bunch of credits, so it's not because I'm skilled), long boring levels, too many weapons which were all overpowered anyway, and the bosses were a total letdown. Also, you can't have an arcade-styled game dropping frames this much. You simply can't.

Instead of that, I'd have really liked to try HOD EX instead. I hoped they could port it to the Wii or something… but it looks unlikely now.

I guess House of the Dead is being controlled by evil forces…

i loved overkill. they did everything right except the occasional strange framerate dip. i've owned all of the home versions, and overkill is the best hands down.
