Zen Studios Hinting At Ninja Gaiden Pinball? (Update: Yes, They Were)

By Spencer . October 5, 2009 . 1:01pm

Well, they’re hinting at something since they e-mailed us this image of Ryu Hayabusa and Ayane encircled by a purple flame.

Our guess is a Ninja Gaiden Sigma themed pinball table. Zen Studios made a Super Street Fighter II pinball table last year to coincide with the launch of Super Street Fighter II HD Remix. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 just came out and that Z looks a lot like the Z in their Zen Pinball logo.

The secret will be revealed on the PlayStation Blog tomorrow so the surprise sounds limited to PS3 and PSP owners.

Update: Yeah, we got this one ahead of time. A Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 themed pinball table will arrive on PSN later this month.

Zen Pinball is one of the worst pinball games I have ever played. I play a lot of pinball in my local arcades, and Zen Pinball is billed as the most realistic video game adaptation of pinball ever, and it is CLEARLY not. It does not follow real pinball physics, or play like a normal pinball game. The tables are tilted WAY too high, making the ball move at ultra high speeds; yes, you can change the tilt height, but even the lowest setting is faster than any real pinball game… and of course, you can’t get trophies at anything but the standard tilt height.

A Sigma 2-themed table for Zen Pinball? YAY!!

It doesn’t just look like the Z (and P) in Zen Pinball, it is exactly the Z (and P) from that logo, going from the two images you have up there.

    • Hah! Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like a 110% chance of this being the case.
