Exorsister Hit With A Delay And A Price Break

D3’s quirky combination of The Onechanbara and Monster Hunter, called Exorsister, is “canceled” to make room for Simple 2500 Series Portable Vol. 13: The Demon Hunters Exorsister.

Rebranding will take about a month. Exorsister was first scheduled for November 19. The game’s new release date is December 23. D3 also sliced the price in half. Originally, Exorsister was an average price PSP game at 5,040 yen ($55). Exorsister will only set you back 2,625 yen ($28) now. D3 attributed the price break to the economic downturn.

I love Simple Series and their cheaper pricing. It got me into Oneechanbara, Earth Defense Force, and so much more!

Yeah. Unfortunately many of these games are overlooked though because people and overseas publishers think theyre cheap.

      • QBasic

        They’re not cheap…they’re just crap. =/

I’m still baffled as to why those two Oneechanbara games even got considered for localization…

Actually it’s usually a bit of both those things. Simple 2000 was always what it stood for-simple games (not blockbuster by any means) at 2000yen cost (cheap!). You get what you pay for and they were mindless fun for what it was worth.

They’ve definitely strayed from that cost wise though, meaning they’ve gotten quite pricey for what you get (in Japan at least). I was amazed vorteX came out stateside and with a name like Bikini Samurai Squad, I just couldn’t buy it. I guess I’m a little glad I imported it, because it was a year or so before it even came out stateside.

Global Defense Force & EDF are two of the greatest action games ever made

  • QBasic

    Lolz. Surprise, surprise.

  • Cloud_ST

Damn, the game looked kinda nice but this rebranding thing come as a sorta of warning in my opinion.

The label that brought me a proper Puzzle Bobble compilation has never… well, it’s certainly steered me wrong before, but I might be tempted to take a gamble on this one now.
