imageMistwalker’s network enabled Blue Dragon DS game is coming to North America next spring under the name Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow. But, Namco Bandai isn’t publishing it.

Well, Namco Bandai is sort of publishing it. D3 Publisher, now a Namco Bandai subsidiary, will be marketing the Tri-Crescendo developed Blue Dragon game in North America.

Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow deviates from the other Blue Dragon titles by making you, the player, the main character. Shu and his friends still appear as allies in the story. You can customize your fighter by selecting a shadow (read: class) and outfit similar to Dragon Quest IX, which doesn’t have a release date here yet.

Check out some screenshots from the Japanese version, Blue Dragon: Ikai no Kyoju, here.

Tri-Crescendo is still around? I don’t think I’ve heard of anything from them since Baten Kaitos 2.

They’ve made Eternal Sonata and Fragile since then.
