Samurai Warriors 3 just released in Japan this past week and details on the paid downloadable content are out. DLC comes in the form of three additional chapters with five playable scenarios each. Each chapter costs 300 Wii points ($3) and lets you play through different events from the warring states period.

Like Monster Hunter 3, Samurai Warriors 3 is being graced with two hardware bundles in Japan — one with a Wii and Classic Controller Pro, and one with just the controller — and a "Treasure box" edition which comes with the Classic Controller Pro, the soundtrack CD, a figurine and strategy guide. Oh, and there’s the regular standalone edition of the game as well.

I would get this in a heartbeat if it were on PS3. Something just doesn’t feel right about playing serious games on the Wii, but I guess thats just me?

I hear you, although my main issue is with the Wiimote itself. Generally for me as long as the “serious” game has Gamecube/Classic Controller support it’s fine.

That being said, I would be surprised if this didn’t get ported to PS3/360 next year given Koei’s history.

I just hope they port this to 360 sooner than later. What makes them think this will sell well on the Wii?

Don’t get me wrong, I freaking love all the Warrior titles but not enough to buy a Wii. The Wii is a terrible choice for a game like this, especially with incorporating DLC.

Even with just 1st day sales this game’s already outsold every 360 Musou game. I don’t doubt it’ll see a port (or several ports more likely), but if we’re talking strictly sales, 360 should be pretty much dead last when it comes to Musou.
