Love Can Bloom On The Battlefield And In The Bathhouse In Luminous Arc 3

Famitsu’s new online advertorial (may be NSFW) for Luminous Arc 3 sheds a little more light on the dating-sim aspect and the bathhouse beneath the magic academy Refi attends, which looks like it will be a major setting for character events in addition to the school cafeteria.

Love Can Bloom On The Battlefield And In The Bathhouse In Luminous Arc 3 In addition to being able to "relieve the weariness of battle" (*cough cough?*) in the bath, Refi and his toweled female teammates have event sequences at a public bathhouse. You can pay a fee to increase your maximum HP at the bath, too.

The bathhouse isn’t the only place where you can pay money for some useful benefits. In the academy library, you can pay a fee to obtain confidential information about your peers. This will allow you to engage in more interesting and intimate conversations with them. According to Famitsu, Imageepoch have put special care into the sub-scenarios, which complement the main story.

There’s also mention of how the dating-sim aspect affects battles. It seems like getting intimate enough with a certain character will give you a Zodiac Card, which will enable you to perform a powerful attack known as a Unison Strike when that character is adjacent to you in battle. Each character’s Zodiac Card seems to be different, which could make for some interesting battles.

I think I don't like this trend of having to chat and get “intimate” with characters in the game to get techniques/magics/etc,Usually the conversations and such are are pretty boring and no more than fan service, not always though.

I actually like RPGs with relationship building elements, so this is interesting to me. Though this is nothing new to the Luminous Arc series, the past titles had dating/friendship sim elements also.

I hope the bath scenes and Unison Strikes are not just exclusive to the female characters though. In Luminous Arc 2, the hot springs events (similar to this) were available to all the party members except the two cameo characters.

I love the artwork in the Luminous Arc games. It's just a shame that I find SRPGs to be too boring to bother with.

    Awesome feature for me.

Though, the “magical” hot spring easily sets it into Refuge in Audacity levels… well, it's a fantasy game, so anything goes.

I don't mind relationship building elements, but it really depends on how believable the delivery is and how many branching paths these relationships can take.

Great, luminous arc team made a great work in luminous arc 2 between the balance of fighting and storytelling (including sub stories). I hope atlus bring this one, or i will kill someone

I agree. But I actually love SRPGs and just find Luminous Arc too boring. This is one of those games that I really want to like, but can't bring myself to.

I'm cautiously optimistic for LA3. The first two both got honest 28/40 scores from Famitsu, but judging by the coverage, they're a lot more excited for Luminous Arc 3. I really, really hope this one turns out better.

it would be fun if there was a female version, where you go to magical hot springs with the guys ;)
