Help Find Etna’s Pantsu In Prinny 2

By Spencer . December 24, 2009 . 9:50am

image Etna sent out her Prinnies to collect desserts in Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero. In the sequel, Prinny 2: Dawn of the Great Pantsu War your mission is to recover Etna’s stolen underwear.

Seriously, that’s the plot of the sequel. Hero Prinny has some new moves to help him tackle this mission like the Prinny Cyclone (pictured). After activating break mode, Hero Prinny can use this attack and a Metabon Hip Attack. How do you activate break mode? By filling up the combo meter.

Even though you had 1,000 lives, Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero was tough. Nippon Ichi wants to make Prinny 2 more accessible so they added an easy mode, called “baby mode.” This difficulty level has block assists and changes the scarves in the top left corner to diapers. Check out Dengeki Online’s screenshot filled blowout for more details.

Prinny 2’s underpants recovering adventure is scheduled for March 25, 2010 in Japan.

I'm neither excited nor offended by the underwear plot, but I'm absolutely thrilled about the game in general. Prinny might be my favorite NIS game so far, and the sequel looks dynamite!
  • lostinblue
they really want to give people a reason to finish the game.

    I mean, panties? I'm thrilled.
  • tsukasa1288
The screen shots at Dengeki say "baby easy" not "baby mode." Just thought I'd throw that out there
  • Hraesvelgr
Not that it really matters either way.
  • wildarms
im surprised and not surprised at the same time
  • Ereek
Haha, I love the "baby mode." Diapers instead of scarves, you say? If that isn't an insult I don't know what it is. I love it!

Well, I loved the first and I'm sure I'll love this too. Normal Mode for me, despite how amusing the prospect of running around with diapers as your health indicator is.
  • Hraesvelgr
Ah, Japan, you become even more shameless with each new game, it seems... I'm sure this is meant just in good fun, but with the pantsu craze, it does make one wonder...
  • Shameless? The Disgaea series has always been in good fun, it's ability to stay in tune with pop culture/then parody the hell out of it, is frankly unmatched in the industry.
  • Hraesvelgr
Uh, yes, that is... pretty much what I said, except for the unmatched part. I don't like N1 games. Just commenting on the pantsu craze. Parody or not, they're just cashing in on it.
  • Zeik56
This is nothing really new for NIS though. I'm pretty sure I recall something like this in one of the previous games. It's just part of their generally brand of craziness.
  • pacanug
    Not interested unless they're shimapan.
  • You know alot of Japanese women are completely flat right and actually look like etna body wise
  • Hraesvelgr
    No, not really.
  • shirokiryuu
Now I'll have to get around finishing the first... I already being terrible at platformers made it worst =(
  • Pichi
I wonder how NISA will translate that title, lol! Still need to play the first one, and if I find it a bit too hard, I might go for this new mode.

    Prinny 2: Grand Theft Pantsu!
  • Best plot ever.
  • rar! absolutely loved the first game, and played it to death! And seriously I can't think of a better concept for a sequel, this is why I love NIS, rar the search for missing pantsu! Also the bottom screens seem to show usable items, my only qualm with the original was Prinny could use more moves, seems like they'll have a lot more in this!
  • Zeik56
Sounds like a Disgaea plot to me. Will be picking this up, since the last Prinny game was one of the best 2D platforms I've played.

I also appreciate the condescending baby mode. Good stuff.

    Sweet
  • Dark_Sage
Baby mode, eh? Not too classy, but I'll take it!
  • Those poor Prinnies... It would be funny if it turned out to be Laharl in response to the photo leak in the first game somehow, but really, no one would've known Etna had undergarments.

The stages look great. My copy of the first game should be sitting under the Christmas tree, but I'm looking forward to this one, too.

Nippon Ichi: Games by pedophiles for pedophiles.
  • Haha, even though I just localize, I do feel vaguely offended.
  • nyoron
And with baby mode they're even catering to the diaper fetishists. NIS has gone too far.
  • Dark_Sage
  • Not that I care or matters either way, but I've always figured that in this case 1,400 would be the equivalent of a human at 14, 1,200 to 12, etc.
  • Dark_Sage
    I always figured 1,400 meant 1,400.
  • OnesOwnGrief
I always figured if the character looks like a child its still a child. <.< Especially in Hentai cause then you're just... well wtf. Prepubescent looking characters in my opinion are still wrong. But I blame all the friggin Loli in that country.
  • Hraesvelgr
Technically, in these sorts of games, looking like a child doesn't necessarily mean one is a child. A lot of characters in Japanese anime or video games look younger than they're meant to be. Look at Lucky Star.
  • nyoron
Etna pantsu would make a nice preorder bonus. Maybe as a PSP case, kinda like the one that came with the Strike Witches DS game.

Will probably get this, despite the infuriating jumping of the original.
