Yeah I just dont get it. Namco use to be one of my favorite developer/publishers but they are so low on my list this gen it shocks me. In my opinion they should release as much as possible on all platforms because they are flushing thier fanbase down the toilet. Tekken 6 stinks(and I am a big Tekken fan) I thought SoulCalibur 4 was an unbalanced mess that stripped most of what made 1&2 so great. Timed 360 exclusive BS, and total lack of Tales support on the systems its available on. Its just bad business.

DVDs were locked for years, but there were ways to unlock most DVD players, I thought it was stupid UMD movies are region locked while the games aren't. As for no Jpn subtitle for most Jpn anime, I think it's laziness or they just don't like the idea of including the script.. one thing I don't like about Jpn DVDs is that the subtitles are not what's being said on screen, meaning for a hollywood movie it's the subtitle for the English dialogue, but never the verbatim “closed caption” for the Jpn dialogue, for the hearing impaired so to speak. I really wish they would have two kinds of subtitles.

I don't understand the japanese though. Region locking, no subtitles… are they really so afraid of people importing their stuff? As a neo-mercantilist country, shouldn't they be trying to encourage it?

Same… I wish Siliconera would stop posting ToV news, that isn't “ToV announced for North America”, because it's always so exciting to see the ToV image, and then a big disappointment to read the headline and see that it isn't a North American announcement.

Yeah, UMD movies are region locked (it's a dead media for movies anyway, no extras no nothing..), US and Jpn share the same region for Blu-ray movies as well as games, I have the Jpn Blu-ray for the movie “Gattaca” and Resident Evil/Biohazard Degeneration, maybe Spence meant DVDs.
I got the Jpn Beowulf UMD just for fun, since my PSP-2000 is from Jpn..

Why ToV International PS3 is still not announced for the US is just puzzling.. nothing more disgusting than their DLC costumes though..

Yeah, that's why I never get anime on Jpn DVDs, they don't even have the decency to include Jpn subtitles.. well, for some movies they do, but never anime TV series. I'm glad I didn't get the new EVA movie and now the US ver. would have Eng. sub and dual track (not to mention $20 instead of $60)

The irony. Anything with "bandai" in it's name stateside has been reeking of fraktarded failure for a while now.

Bandai Entertainment's anime releases have been delayed one after another; Kurokami holding the torch for being delayed NINE months.

And Namco Bandai's lack of support for...well. Just about everything.

Its high time Namco Bandai gets disappeared, and let someone else release this.

And for DVD, the region is the same as Europe, so I guess we could at least import that one.

Not that it matters. For some reason, japanese movies are almost always devoid of subtitles. Sometimes, not even japanese subtitles.

Right–for blu-rays North America is in the same region as Japan, Korea and Hong Kong (but not mainland China.)

You got that right. This is an outrage I tell you I have never seen a company screw its fans over so much. I'm very disappointed in them for not releasing at least one Tales for the DS in the states while Japan has three now. God I wish I could understand Japanese but I just can't at this point.
