By Spencer . February 17, 2010 . 6:21pm

Battle Lunar: Silver Star Harmony, a PSP remake of Lunar: Silver Star with a new localization, is less than a month away. Xseed set March 2nd as the game’s release date in North America. Game Arts updated this version of Lunar with new graphics, event scenes, and remastered audio.

Retailers in the US and Canada will stock two editions of Lunar: Silver Star Harmony. You can get a standalone game for $29.99 or a limited edition with a soundtrack CD and thirteen bromide cards for $39.99. Don’t want to clutter your desk with the items linked to the Dragonmaster’s journey? A digital download will be available on the PlayStation Store starting March 4.

Speaking of downloads, did you know Xseed released a demo on the PlayStation Network? Play it to unlock bonus items which can be used in the final game.

Finished the demo, and am really looking forward to this as I have never played the original.

  • Masengan

A lot of games coming out on March, and not enough cash…

  • Darren M

Fingers crossed that it actually has Canadian distro…still not listed on Amazon. Xseed seems to have a lot of trouble getting games stocked anywhere here.

I preordered my Special Edition at EB…
      And…
      Uh…
      Both Pokemon games.
      Hello, nostalgic feelings!

Yeah I’m buying the limited edition. I don’t like how the whole screen fades out and music goes out while switching screens, but whatever.

I think it’s more of an homage to the originals, as I believe they did it then, too. I’m not disagreeing with you, just trying to rationalize. =)

    • Kunio_kun

Maybe this will be remedied in the final version? Possibly with an install??? Played the demo and the music fade wasn’t as bad as I was expecting as it picks back up right where it left off on the next screen. I thought by the way people were talking the music track reset on each screen, which is not the case… Anyways, that problem seems minor compared to the screen-tearing in the PS1 port…

My want level for this game is through the roof simply because of Iwadare’s re-worked score. He is easily in my top 3 favorite composers.

    Grandia next, please.

      Yes.
      Yes.
      Yeeeeessssss.
      That will be all.

    • Kunio_kun

I wouldn’t mind SquEnix somehow fixing the horribly juvenile translation that Grandia received when it came to the U.S. PS1. Damn Game Arts for taking SCEA’s money over Working Designs quality… But I won’t hold my breath waiting for this to happen…

  • Soma

I’ve already bought this game before. I don’t know how many times, but I am going to buy it again.
And I’m going to love it.

Still holding out for Lunar 3.

When I played the demo acouple of weeks ago, it was soooo similar to the ps1 version. The overall feel to it. Like I was playing the original (maybe bec of the cutscenes lol)

I might not preorder this since I already preordered sakura wars ($65) and I’m broke too. Psp man, there’s alot of good games coming…Persona 3 portable, Mgs Pw, Kingdom Hearts Bbs, Valkyria chronicles, This.

My Fav ps1 Rpgs are being remade 1 by 1. First Chrono Trigger, then this, hopefully Grandia and Xenogears (long shot. lol.)

    • Joanna

      uh, Chrono Trigger isn’t a PS1 RPG, it’s a SNES RPG. It was released on the PS1 yes, but I wouldn’t consider a re-release a ps1 game.

      • Kunio_kun

uh, and, uh, Lunar was originally a Sega Cd game. The PS1 version was a port of the Saturn version, a remake of the original…

        • Joanna

and uh did I mention Lunar not being a Sega Cd game?

  • Trotmeister

Remake of a remake of a remake. *yawn*

  • badmoogle

I haven’t played a Lunar game before but i enjoyed the demo so i’ll be definitely getting it at some point.

  • ShinNoKami

    oAo BROMIDES…. WANT.

  • jj984jj

    March now? :

I think I’ll wait, I have played Lunar before and better graphics in exchange for more loading doesn’t seem like something worth taking the plunge over other games in March.

Am I the only one that for the field part of the demo at got a weird Crimson Gem Saga vibe?
It kind of felt like they replaced CGS’s sprites & backgrounds for Lunar ones.

  • thebanditking

I can’t wait for this, had my LE pre-ordered from Amazon since it was announced. I really love the Lunar series (well the original two anyway). Im hoping this does well so that they decide to remake the second game as I doubt Lunar 1 and 2 will ever end up on the PSN.

    • Kunio_kun

Lunar 2 was the most amazing game I had ever experienced when it came out in 1995 for the Sega Cd. No game will ever compare to that perfect title, in my opinion. It’s a shame it was released on a failed, dead console; if more people had the opportunity to play it at the time, I sincerely believe the series would have become immensely popular and the fate of the franchise, Game Arts and Working Designs would have been completely different…

  • vall03

fucking March again! damn, my list keeps on increasing, anyway, really looking forward to it, I just hope I have enough money by March…

  • Tokyo Guy

I certainly hope the digital version gets rid of the appaling amount of disc loading and spinning that was in the Japanese version.
