MangaGamer Annnounce Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia

By Ishaan . February 21, 2010 . 11:03am

MangaGamer just sent out a press release for Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia, a fan-disc spin-off of Edelweiss. Story-wise, the game stars Takase Sakura and Fujisaki Rin, two supporting characters from the first game that won enough popularity polls in Japan to get their own game.

As for the story…

“On a deserted southern island, there lies an all-girls school where students learn the mysterious art of alchemy. This strange academy, known as Eiden Academy, is the setting of Edelweiss, a tale of laughs and tears shared between the heroines, who lived their lives free of men on this island, and Haruma Kazushi, one of the silly boys who came here to score. This is an all-new game which picks up where Edelweiss ended.”

Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia will release on March 20 for 19.95 Euros (around $27), so everyone annnoyed about high prices might actually be interested in it. It’s by the developers of KiraKira, and the artwork is very similar. Hopefully, it’s as good as KiraKira, too.

Wow, it looks really, really original…

I totally dig the plot that, by the way, hasn’t ever been used before… Really!

    • Are you having a really bad week or something? Your last 10 comments or so are all complaints about something or the other…

      • bobhoskins

I resemble and edit that remark! Not 10….more like 8.

And it’s not a bad week or anything. Comments exist for people to share their opinions, and it just so happens to be that I don’t happen to have a positive opinion on anything as of late. If anything, I have a neutral opinion regarding Continuum Shift: If they announce the LE stateside, then I’ll be YAY! If not, then I guess you’d be adding a ninth complaint to the list

Moderator’s note: Comments are enabled for thoughtful discussion, not mindless complaining. If you’re going to continue to dump on and derail every visual novel post you’re going to lose your commenting account. Take this as your final warning.

        • Ereek

If you only want to comment negatively on something, why comment at all? There is a difference between constructive criticism and simply being negative.

  • Don’t forget the “talking Johnny” part. Stuff like that writes itself!

On their blog post, then mentioned that they are also planning on having a bundle of the first game and this. If they fixed the errors in the first game I’ll grab that just so there’s some consistency between the two.

  • oh boy, its another thing about visual novels…

    • Hraesvelgr

oh boy, its another comment thing complaining about the VN posts…

    • Moriken

Since they usually write “MangaGamer” in the subject, and they publish only VNs, it should be easy to figure that out and consequently ignore before reading it anyway.

    • I swear to God, the next person to do this will get banned minus any sort of warning. I’m not kidding.

      • 100% backed.

For the record I don’t care much about these games either. But I am very well aware of what Siliconera is trying to do here.

You don’t like these stories? No one’s forcing you to click your way here. There’s no gun to your head. Why aren’t you doing something better with your time anyway? Like Shiren the Wanderer for the Wii?? Or Brandish PSP?????

      • i read siliconera through a reader, not through the website, so essentially im automatically clicked through to read all the stories.

and no. youre right. my criticism isn’t meant to be constructive. but im open to talking with you about it further in private.

  • Jaxx-Leviathan

I believe this issue with people commenting only to hate on the VN’s have been discussed before, so please refrain from sharing non-productive criticism just because you’ve got beef with the genre. I guess I am biased since I happen to like VN’s and the news on this which Ishaan provides. I say keep up the good work, Ishaan.
