Atelier Totori Announced, It’s A Sequel To Atelier Rorona

By Spencer . March 23, 2010 . 9:06pm

imageFamitsu has news on Gust’s next PlayStation 3 game. It’s called Atelier Totori: Alchemist of Arland 2 and yes, it’s related to Atelier Rorona.

The brief in Famitsu explains Totori is the protagonist and the game takes place in Arland, five years after the events in Atelier Rorona. Atelier Totori is slated for June 24.

Dengeki is said to have a huge reveal, but scans haven’t popped up yet. According to various forums, Rorona is in Atelier Totori too. She’s 22 now and Totori is her first disciple. The two alchemists are searching for Totori’s missing mother. Atelier Totori has more volume and players can explore the entire content.

NIS America confirmed Atelier Rorona is coming to North America and we’ll get it sometime this year.

  • Interesting, maybe rorona got a big fanbase in japan, maybe ill like them to use some of the old’s game characters, gotta play it first. I just hope is not a recycled story.

    • Ereek

From what I’ve heard, Rorona did surprisingly well in Japan. It sold a good deal higher than GUST’s expectations. It’s not surprising they would make a sequel.

I can’t wait, personally. Judie first, though.

    • Hraesvelgr

It’s supposedly one of the better selling games in the series, though I have no idea whether that’s true or not, since I don’t pay much attention to it.

  • Artavasdus

I’m having the same “Hell yeah, day one !!11!11” reaction I have every time an Atelier game is announced :P
I hope both Lina, Judie remake and this Totori manage to be localized by NiSA.

I hope they Romanize the title as “Atelier, Totally!” for America.

  • Xeahnort

Gust showing some PS3 love again.
Looks like the PS3 is slowly going to take back the title of “King of JRPG”

    • I got yelled at for saying the same thing. lol

    • thebanditking

I certainly hoppe so, JRPG’s are few and far between anymore and if any platform is going to continue to support them its the PS3. Though I suppose Im more worried about the genre disapperaing then what platform they are on.

      • Artavasdus

We have had a jrpg localized every week in the last months (Sands of Destruction, Ragnarok DS, Resonance of Fate, WKC, FF13, SO4 International, Infinite Space, Lunar SSH, Last Rebellion, Shiren, Fragile, Spectral Force Genesis, SMT Strange Journey, not to mention the upcoming Sakura Wars, Mimana, Agarest, Hexyz, Arc Rise Fantasia, Rorona and Trinity Universe) and even more have been released in Japan, I don’t see the genre disappearing any time soon.

Being a multiplatform user I actually have problems finding the time to play all the jrpgs I am interested in XD

This is perhaps the best news day ever.
Persona 5 confirmed and now a new Atelier game announced? I think I can go to work feeling happy and refreshed.
I’m guessing North America will have to wait until June 2011 to play Totori in english, though. XP

Wait, what? P5 IS CONFIRMED? *goes looking for info*

      *edit: How the hell did I miss that ><;

Hopefully it will have a lot less bugs than Atelier Rorona. The damn thing crashes from things as simple as scrolling the text too fast.
