Last week, fighting game fansite Team Sp00ky reported that it believed Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was in development, citing vague “multiple sources,” and that an announcement was pending. A point to note is that the site editor behind the report has a history with Capcom fighting game announcements, as he also leaked the full roster for Super Street Fighter IV before it was officially announced.
So, assuming Marvel vs. Capcom 3 actually is in development, and an impending announcement is around the corner (E3?), what would you want from it?
Personally, from a Marvel standpoint, I’d like to see the game cover a bit of the Civil War saga, which I really liked. It would also allow for an interesting roster, with fighters like the Spider-Man costume developed by Tony Stark. From an aesthetic standpoint, I would hope they expand upon the style established in Street Fighter IV, rather than the one in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. The latter just didn’t look as interesting.
A huge thanks to Tetsuya Hikari for the tip!
