Who Else Is Working On Xenoblade’s OST?

We already know Yoko Shimomura is composing music for Monolith Soft and Nintendo’s upcoming RPG. But she isn’t alone. VGMdb are reporting that she’ll be joined in her composition duties by none other than Yasunori Mitsuda.

Furthermore, the soundtrack for Xenoblade is being published by Dog Ear Records, which is Nobuo Uematsu’s music production house. The OST will contain 4 entire CDs worth of music — including all the music from the game, and the themes by both Shimomura and Mitsuda — and is scheduled for a June 23rd release.

Lol once i opened this article, i saw a wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide screenshot, stretched to its limit.

Well! I dont know about Xenoblade, but the OST is going to be good, thats for sure.

That is EPIC. One of the more recent trailers was making me wonder if Yoko was the only one working on the soundtrack (or all of the music we’ve heard could’ve been by her and I’m just having hindsight bias issues).

    My god. Shimomura and Mitsuda?
I’m about 1000% more excited about this game. The soundtrack will be purchased even if the game itself is not.

Same here, not sure about the game at this point (most likely getting it anyway w/ Last story, despite not like the chars’ 3D models), but I’m definitely buying the soundtrack for sure. Two heavy hitter RPGs for the Wii!? Right now I’m excited about Nier’s epic soundtrack too.

The OST sure main selling point for this game.

      Shimomura + Mitsuda =p

It’s been said that Mitsuda’s only composing one track – a vocal track – for the game. My guess is that it may be the ending theme.

That said, if Joanne Hogg shows up after an entire game of Shimomura music, I will probably die from a heart explosion.

Wonderful! Hopefully we’ll get some combat details soon, Nintendo seems to be going after action RPGs, which I don’t mind but some details would be nice.

From the look of things, Xenoblade looks even more turn-based than Last Story… both look promising, hope they would turn out well.

Holy crap. The only thing more epic would be Shimomura + Yuki Kajiura.

    And the CD of course.
