Yoichi Wada Has A Subtle, But Fine Sense Of Humour

http://www.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/square_wada.jpg Despite what must be an incredibly stressful and sometimes frustrating job, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada has retained his sense of humour — something he has a tendency of displaying on Twitter from time to time.

In response to a tweet asking about when Final Fantasy XIV would release, Wada-san replied (in English):

“Someday in 2010. God knows. I’m not a god.”

In response to another tweet regarding his position at Square Enix:

Yes, sometimes. RT @marstk Are You the chairman of SquareEnix?

And a third lucky follower even received a reply to his query regarding Final Fantasy XV:

Nobody Knows! RT @Himan11 So, when is the FF15 announcement?

I’m not sure I like Wada’s business practices, but he’s cute, I’ll give him that.

With all of the problems in XIV’s alpha, I don’t see it getting a release any time before late 2010.

I like the “Yes, sometimes” comment though, it made me smile.

Someone needs to ask him about Versus :)

God only knows what year it’s coming out in. He already said he isn’t God.

Sounds like he’s taking out his frustrations on the net by crushing fans’ hopes, very gently. Anyone who’s hoping for a Kingdom Heart 3, do not ask him for a release date. If he says “someday in 2015″, he might really just stand by his word and wait till that day arrives, even if the game is completed by 2013.

I wish more japanese game devs would take a cue from Kojima and run an English version of their twitter.

It’s kind of freaky that the “God Knows” portion that’s intertwined with “okkusenman” in the Nico Nico Douga medley was playing when I was reading this.
