The Legend of Zelda producer, Eiji Aonuma, revealed to president Satoru Iwata, that his Zelda team had initially given up on making Skyward Sword compatible with MotionPlus. That is, until, Wii Sports Resort producer, Katsuya Eguchi, came up to him one day and asked why he wasn’t using MotionPlus for Zelda’s swordplay when even Wii Sports Resort had pulled it off.

Encouraged by Eguchi, Aonuma and his team overhauled the game and re-designed the combat from the ground up to make use of the add-on. Amusingly, it was later revealed that Eguchi went to Aonuma under Miyamoto’s instructions. “Coming from me, it wasn’t persuasive,” Miyamoto joked.

I’m okay with the MotionPlus controls, I just hope it’s more responsive than it was during the presentation.

I’m pretty sure that it would be, I’m going to give this game the benefit of the doubt and wait for some impressions, also this game is going to be released on 2011 wich is more than enough time for making a great game.

I just hope they include a Left Handed option or else I’m left out in the cold. :(

HELL YES. I’ve been waiting for a real game to use Wii Sports Resort’s swordfighting mechanics!
