rar, this game has left me mixed, on one hand it’s a return to more classic platforming Sonic and it’s being handled by Dimps which are reasons to be happy >w<' But on the other it feels like it's missing something, and I just haven't been impressed by the speed.

Modern 2D Sonic games have often reversed the momentum of Sonic’s different moving states. In the old games, Sonic’s upright speed was set to about half of his full maximum speed, but it was controllable, while Sonic’s rolling speed could reach his maximum speed, but was less controllable since it was dependent on outside forces to gain this speed. As I was saying, I think Modern 2D Sonic reverses this dynamic in that rolling actually causes a lot of friction now and slows Sonic down while his upright running speeds “breaks barriers” at certain points while he’s running.

Never thought about it quiet like that, but that does sound correct, and looking at StH4 footage, I think your right, upright seems to be slower but more control, and rolling seems to when Sonic reaches top speed. Although that being said, they both seem slower then other Sonic games T_T’ I liked Rush’s system >w<'

I have a feeling if you’re gonna play this like Sonic 1, it won’t seem like a good game. I remember having that experience with Sonic Rush, because I ignored the Boost button. After I figured it out, Rush was so very fun.
I have a feeling this game will have a Boost button of some sort, and I hope it’s more in line with the more manageable Sonic Rush boost as opposed to the freakishly fast Sonic Unleashed boost.
