Facebook Files: Your Take On E3 2010

Now that E3 is over, I’m sure we all have our opinions as to how things went, who had the best showing and what products at the show we expect to be the most successful. Here are some short excerpts from the lengthy Facebook discussion on the subject:

I’m going to start off saying, theres a lot of Kinect news. But it was Microsoft’s day first. Am I at least a bit excited about it? A little I guess, but not too excited about the $149 speculated price. The new Xbox 360 slim I am, I want it.

Nintendo had a great press conference. Lots of titles, and more importantly, lots of titles I wanna play (Zelda, Golden Sun, Donkey Kong, Epic Micky, Other M). Also, Nintendo’s press conference just made me want a 3DS. It might become the first system I buy lunch day.

Pushing Move for hardcore gamers? That seems kind of odd to me. Early on, they said it’s to make games more accessible, but then they have Kevin Butler do that ridiculous gaming cult speech. In the end, it comes down to owning Move, Eyetoy, PS3 and a 3D TV to be able to experience what Sony are pushing. That’s not mass-market at all.

Ubisoft are really kicking ass. How much of that was up to Ubisoft Montreal? Although those guys seem like more of a dev. team, since they made all the Prince of Persia games, I’m pretty sure Beyond Good & Evil, and definitely Assassin’s Creed. I don’t like the latter most too much, but good on them, and I’m proud to be their “neighbour”.

Interplay vaguely unveiled Fallout Online. Pretty early since they had it planned for a 2012 release, either way I’m hyped. Sony also released a trailer and a couple of gameplay videos for Twisted Metal. I’m not expecting much since i stopped being a fan after TM2. And finally Valve is spreading the love to SONY.

So, what did you take away from E3 this year? Who had the best showing? What’s going to be big and what isn’t? Fire away, and remember to keep it civil!
