JAST USA License Tenkuu no Yumina

Translated “Yumina the Ethereal,” JAST USA’s newly licensed title involves more than just dating-sim elements — it’s also an RPG. The company announced the acquisition at their panel during Anime Expo this past week.

Kikouyoku Senki Tenkuu no Yumina is a dungeon-crawling, sci-fi role-playing game crossed with a dating-sim. The game is based around the protagonist, transfer student Akashima Ayumu, who is sent to the school of Midorishita Yumina, in order to protect the girl. Eventually the two of them end up in outer space.

Tenkuu no Yumina is scheduled to release in 2011. The game is developed by Eternal, a part of visual novel publisher, Will, responsible for publishing Yume Miru Kusuri in Japan. Proceed here at your own risk (NSFW) for more screenshots.

  • animedemon

i been w8ing for this game new about this 4weeks ago know somone tht work there

  • Reimine

What about demonbane and other nitro+ games?

    • ZeroBlitz

JAST said it was almost complete and it should be released by the end of Summer.

Edit: no statements were made regarding other Nitro+ games apparently.

      • Reimine

        Ok, thanks for the information

  • Justinzero

Wait, so this is coming out on PC here? A localized Japanese PC title… here?

Wow. I was not expecting that.

    • That’s kind of what visual novel / dating-sim / eroge publishers do. ;)

      • What JAST USA does *wink*

(this is not an ad >8O)

  • andref

Before seeing the screenshots i was picturing the game’s combat to resemble more like tears to tiara or utwarerumono but this looks interesting i just hope the story is good and the other shady elements of the game don’t overpower it.

    • ZeroBlitz

If you want to use those games for comparison, this one is supposed to be a lot better. It’s been very well received so far.

Also, you may like to know that this is actually a spiritual successor to Seinarukana (the sequel to Eien no Aselia which was just released in English by the team who translated Tears to Tiara). Eternal, the company who created this game, was formed of staff who left Xuse after releasing Seinarukana – which also has a fan translation project that’s just started up.

      • andref

well i guess i’ll look forward to the release and maybe see about looking for seinarukana if i can find it in english

        • ZeroBlitz

What I meant is that Eien no Aselia -The Spirit of Eternity Sword- has been translated (dakkodango.com) and a translation project has started for Seinarukana -The Spirit of Eternity Sword 2-.

Tenkuu no Yumina is kind of a follow up to these games due to a new company but a lot of the same staff.

          • Justinzero

Hey, thanks for the history trail. I’m somewhat of a fan for the Eien no Aselia series, so it’s neat to know that it has somewhat of a loose relation to this new title.

  • whorl

This game requires mass grinding out of main scenario just to let everyone know, not like Aselia/Seinarukana where every battle is part of main story. Also why everyone liked this game was because of the characters more than gameplay.Guessing the fandisk will get licensed sometime too.

  • onlymybass

One of them looks like Hideyoshi. A more masculine Hideyoshi.

  • Nice news. Then I have something more to look forward to. Bloody nice :)

  • So its sort of like a dumbed down version of Persona?
