Black And White’s Legendary Ethereal Pokémon Revealed

By Ishaan . July 24, 2010 . 10:12pm

Black And Whites Legendary Ethereal Pokémon Revealed The Pokémon Black & White website has pulled the curtain back on Bikutini, the “ethereal” (think Mew, Celebi and Jirachi) legendary in Black & White. Bikutini is numbered #000 in the Isshu Pokédex, and is obtainable through a Wi-Fi event in Japan.

No details as to its backstory have been revealed yet, but we’ll remain on the lookout in the coming weeks.

Hm. Cute, but he's no Celebi.

The designs for this generation are so much better than last's! It's always exciting seeing more.

Tiny Bikini, you say? My, what a strange Pokémon name. The design is good, but it lacks a certain 'je ne sais quoi' that makes a lot of legendaries so mystical. Still, I've gotta say, I haven't been so excited for a new Pokémon game as I am for Black & White in quite some time.

  • Tim N

Probably cause it looks like its standing firm on the ground, and not floating like the others tend to.

This is the first time any pokemon has taken the #0 spot other than the test pokemon missingno.

  • andref

If this is never going to be able to be obtained in the US version, i will definitely import. It certainly sucks when the japanese versions get legendary exclusives

  • shirokiryuu

I…don't really like the design. I mean, Shaymin didn't look like a legendary, but it was irresistibly adorable. (*sniff* and I missed the chance to get one….)

The new pokemon have really been hit or miss. I still love that pigeon.

I don't like about half the designs for all the latest pokemon. At least nothing can get any worse than the death of creativity that was Nosepass.

  • joesz

    Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww He's just tooooooooooooooooooo cute!
    I want him!

yeah i know japan has heaps of pokemon events (*sniff*)`while the rest of the world has to wait a year (i think) for the legendary only obtainable in the game.

Honestly… if you look at Grimer/Muk… Koffing/Wheezing… Diglet… WITHOUT nostalgia… they are horrible horrible designs. I mean Grimer and Koffing are saved slightly because they are inspired by pollution which is neat, but Diglet has no excuse. None.

  • Asura

I liked him better as a black shape…

  • http://twitter.com/Alos88 Jonathan Green

I agree, but I think Diglet may have been based on some weird kind of fungus you see in caves sometimes.

  • http://www.genkaibreak.com Code

I like it, I shall dub it, Quickmon!

  • Jaxx-Leviathan

Well it could just as easily go for being the new initial-area rodent, like Rattata and Sentret and so on, though that role is already taken for this game. It is very cute though and I don't mind it. Ethereal… something to do with aether? Being ethereal is often connected to a angelic divinity-status, am I right? Looking forward to hearing about the story behind it.

  • Pichi

I thought Diglet was just based on the mole?

  • karasuKumo

Hmm I have officially lost interest in Pokemon, It was nice when you could see a Pokemon was based off an animal or an object that was the whole charm of the first generation and even the second. Now people are like “WTF is that”, they are either too creative and weird or they literally are the animal they are based off (the pigeon from this generation).

It simply means the “mew, celebi, shaymin, jirachi, manaphy, etc” of this generation.

  • Pichi

I don't know, I still feel like many of the newer pokemon are like the first generation when based on things. I just sense many older fans are either too used to what they grew up with or just nostalgic about certain things.

  • cmurph666

    Its… aaaahh… Bikutini?!

  • karasuKumo

I agree, Glaceon is one of my faves so I do like some of the new ones but I definitely am used too the old style haha That is the one thing I'm really curious about Black and White is the Eevee evolutions bring on a Ghost type :D

  • Pichi

Agreed about that! I love Eevee evolutions! I hope we get to see all types represented in our life time. Wish there were new ones in Ruby and Sapphire, as that prolonged the process!

  • karasuKumo

Same I love the idea behind it :D What new types do you want in this game? I really want to see a ghost and flying type (I really want to know how they'll do this one) haha I'd only have Eevee evolutions in my party if they did a flying type XD

  • http://www.siliconera.com Ishaan

Try putting him in Photoshop and inverting the colours with Ctrl + i. He looks like Gengar.

  • andref

I'm just worried about that whole exclusive rare colored entei, suicune and raiku event along with the celebi event in japan that allows you to get those shape shifting pokemon zoraork and zorua. I'm just wondering if those are the only ways to get those pokemon or are they catchable in-game

  • Pichi

Steel, dragon, ghost, and bug. Hoping Steel has like a cyborg vibe and I just can't see an eevee turning into a bug, so that's a must see!

  • Judgment8

Meh… Hopefully not another Psychic Poké.

  • NeoTechni

I hate how Ninty pretty much forces us to buy Gamesharks/actionreplays if we want these

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1184250137 Alex Lam

It's called Victini now for its V shaped ears!

Btw: Anyone seen the new bird Pokemon yet that hasn't been officially revealed by Nintendo?

    http://pokemonblackandwhite.net/2010/07/25/bigg…

It's rumored to be the evolution of that Pigeon Pokemon that was released a couple weeks ago.

  • MisterNiwa

    IT'S PIKACHUUUU~~~~~ !!

  • SeventhEvening

I agree with this statement. I was really dissatisfied with the 3rd generation, the gameplay changes and new pokemon seemed…too out there or something. But when the 4th Generation hit, it felt like I was back at the 1st generation again. So I'm staying pretty optimistic.

That being said, Bikutini looks like a freakin' digimon.

  • SeventhEvening

I always thought it was based of a part of human anatomy. You know.

    Or a mole.

  • SeventhEvening

If I had to guess, I think he should be “victini” or something like that. He has V shaped ears and his hand is even in a V (victory) sign. I think that's the pun they were looking for.

  • thebanditking

Just when I thought the new ones could not look any stranger.
