In April, Yen Press co-founder, Kurt Hassler, announced that the company’s flagship Yen Plus magazine would be ending its print run with the July 2010 issue. Post-July, Yen Plus would be distributed digitally in a standalone browser app, accompanied at some point by some content changes that the new format would allow for.
This past week saw the publication of the magazine’s last physical issue, and Yen Press noted the occasion on their website:
“To those of you who’ve stuck with us these past two years, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. In that time, you’ve enjoyed over 50 volumes of Yen Plus titles, not to mention a number of original short stories, bonus previews, posters, and interviews. We know we still have a long way to go, so we thank you for your support and hope to see you online very soon!!”
If you’ve been collecting physical copies of Yen Plus, the post on the website notes that you can still find back-issues via a little searching at online stores such as RightStuf and Robert’s Anime Corner Store.
