Higurashi When They Cry Available On iTunes Store

While MangaGamer publish Higurashi digitally for PC, but did you know that the translated version is also available for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad?

Higurashi on iTunes is published by another company — named SEAMS — that use MangaGamer’s translations. Chapter 2, “Wataginishi,” is on sale right now for a special price at $3.99, while chapter 1, “Onikakushi,” is temporarily free.

If you’ve got a compatible iDevice and the PC versions are a bit of an expensive proposition, this sounds like a great alternative, especially considering you could read it in bed.

WOO, much more reasonable price, and this will do nicely on the go! Hope they plan to make all the chapters!

    • They do. All the other chapters are listed with a “Soon” next to them on the SEAMS website. :)

  • This is actually quite a good idea (like when Phoenix Wright was released on the iphone). Although I’m not personally interested in Higurashi, I hope future PC visual novel games are released this way, because I’d buy them.

Agreed. VNs can be a bit expensive when ordering them online, so I’m glad to see them distributed this way. Higurashi and its sequel(s) are my all-time favorite anime series, so it will be nice to read the original source for them now.

I just grabbed the free chapter. Thanks for the heads up. It’s certainly worth a shot at that price. :PBTW, I think Cat Physics may still be free, and it’s surprisingly fun.
