More Magician’s Quest Mysterious Times Coming To Nintendo DS

More Magicians Quest Mysterious Times Coming To Nintendo DS You may remember Konami’s Animal Crossing-meets-Harry Potter hybrid, titled Magician’s Quest Mysterious Times in North America. The title, set in a magic academy, was an Animal Crossing style communication game, a comparison which Konami was proud of.

Now, Konami are working on a sequel. The protagonist this time around is a future sorcerer and attends the magic school the game is set in, where he can interact with other students, go shopping and the like.

Time in the game is linked to real world time, and once every week, you’ll find yourself in the “Magical Hour.” During this hour, you’ll get the opportunity to catch rare bugs or fish. Once the hour is up, you’re required to solve a magical case, depending on your character.

Magician’s Quest: The Merchant’s Store of Sorcery also lets you run your own store, and there’s a nice range of choices. You could open a restaurant or a fashion store or even a jewelry store. Mini-games allow you to obtain items to keep in stock for selling at your store. There’s also a Tag Mode-like function where you can exchange information with another DS.

Konami haven’t announced a release date for Magician’s Quest: The Merchant’s Store of Sorcery yet, but according to Dengeki, we should be hearing of one sometime soon.

Honestly am surprised that there’s a sequel, weren’t the sales… uh… not good? Being generous here.

They should avoid releasing it for the DS, release it for the 3DS in a pleasurable state so that we arent looking at low quality graphics.

Otherwise, it sounds interesting to keep on the radar

Uh, it sold 500k in Japan alone. That’s actually better than anything this gen from Konami but MGS4/PW.

Really now? I assumed since it did terribly in America it didn’t do so hot in Japan, either. Though that probably means nobody will want to localize it.

Well this game is a lot better than animal crossing, all i wish is to meet some… humans characters as well

Awesome. I liked the first game. It was charming. But I stopped playing for awhile because of school and now I’m afraid to go back like with Animal Crossing: Wild World. xD
