The upcoming Penny Arcade Expo is going to be, possibly, the single best game convention to try out Dragon Quest IX’s Tag Mode, and Nintendo are well aware of it.

Nintendo of America are going to be bringing another DQIX treasure map, titled “Orgodemir”, to the event. They’re also going to have demo units of the game on-site for people to try out.

Nintendo have been promoting Dragon Quest IX well after launch. Gamescom attendees, too, were given access to a treasure map at the event. Last we heard, DQIX had sold somewhere in the range of 132,000 units in North America during the month of its debut.

Oh, that makes me sad. DQVII’s boss is the one I want most, yet I have to work. Blah!

Is anybody who bought this at launch even still playing it?

    • Ereek

Why not? There’s a ridiculous amount of content in the game.

That said, I played the Japanese version so I had something of an advantage in the main storyline, but a good 70% of the game’s hours are in the post-game.

*raises hand* I’m at almost 110 hours now, and trying to clear the Masayuki map for the first time. Hoping it’ll be easy with all the prep I’ve been doing. The main storyline almost felt like it was in the way at times… wanted to get through it so I could get to all the other content!

Heavily winding down due to how the post game builds itself but overall, still chipping away and doing what I can, yeah.

Not as much as the first two weeks, but I’m stilling putting in at least an hour a day.
