Rumour: These Could Be Pokémon Black & White’s Starter Evolutions

By Ishaan . September 5, 2010 . 3:02pm

Long story short — a trio of Black & White starter evolution pictures that originated on 2ch picked up steam as a legitimate rumour. Following the “scoop,” a number of trusted Pokémon sites on the net got on the case, and have been trying to verify it, all in their own ways, and most are of the opinion that these are indeed the evolved forms of Pokémon Black & White’s starters.

Keep in mind, there’s a chance they could all be wrong. But in the event they aren’t, here’s what you can look forward to:

rarr! Noo Smuggleafff! They’ve taken away your arms! What will you cross now well looking smug T_T!?

I thought it was expected that Smugleaf was a grass snake so it was bound to happen that it was going to turn full snake later.

how was the name? dratini? dragonair? or something like that, this is a dratini/dragonie copy, but grass type D:

From what I heard, if you look closely, you’ll see that the little leaf by its body is an arm. Right above the first yellow thing on its body.

Those arms are far too short to cross, how will he cross them smuggly! I guess I’ll just have to stick with his first or second forms.

I usually hate “RAR they’ve no new ideas” posts… but that fully evolved fire thing is basically a clone of what Magmar evolves into. Leaf and Water Final evolutions look greeeeat.

Pokabu’s second form looks a lot like Makuhita to me…

rar hooray more rar >w<~! Oddly enough my likes, go from Smugleaf, to Water 1st evolution (Shell knee pads? awesome), to Fire's final evolution. Fire's final evolution stands out a lot to me I like the spirals on his stomach and he looks gutsy, he looks like he'll be full of suplexes! Grass/Water finals though sadly don't do much for me, but then again it's tough to top Smugleaf.

I think it was Ushi’s forums I saw this pop up on as well, but on there they said these are definitely fake. And user mentioned we have seen Mijimaru(sp)’s evolution (the second at least) and that’s confirmation as to why.

Of course, they very well could have changed it since then, but I doubt that.

Honestly, I don’t think these are official, but if they are, that just turns me away from the games, lol. (I guess I would have no choice but to never use my starter?)

Now I officially like both the Grass and Water types. Fire hmm I wasn’t expecting it to go on two legs. let me see Charizard stood on two legs, Typhlosion as well, Blaziken too, Even Infernape. I guess we have never had a four legged last evo fire starter but Typhlosions goes on its fours when it runs so I guess that counts.

What have they done to you, Fire Pig!? You poor oinker, I will weep for you.

Never liked the grass starter I see even less reason to. Such a ripoff and it’s still AIDS.

Mijumaru is actually looking cool though

Ugly, ugly, ugly. I doubt I will be using any of these

    Fire and Grass are great.

Wow, the water goes from noob-type pokemon to an epic beast

Oh my. Not this again. I’m still convinced they’re fake and it’s been causing a shitstorm all over the place. Disregarding design choices, there are some suspicious things. 1) The art of Tsutaaja and Mijumaru’s 2nd stage are confirmed and are almost exactly the same as the beta art. But those were anime beta sheets used to determine proportions of characters compared to each other. If so, why are the 3rd stages not to scale? If this was official Sugimori art, the pose wouldn’t likely be the same as the anime beta art.2) On the left ofTsutaaja’s 2nd evolution, there’s something covered up by the border. It doesn’t look like Tsutaaja and looks oddly like Mijumaru’s 2nd stage from the beta art.

3rd evo of Smugleaf looks like a grass dragonair
3rd evo of the fire pig thing looks like Magmortar
3rd evo of the water starter just looks extremely off

Google Giant Otter and You’ll see is not off at all.

Haaaaaaaa! People don’t be fool by this title, it’s the same pokemon game you came to love and lately come to hate ( very much). I say, wait for the 3ds. One’s here the next pokemon title with improve mechanics ( that is if they make some exciting tweaks, hmmm something different, but still maintaining the formula). I assure you guys , that pokemon 3ds will blow your mind. On the other note, just when will the psp 2 be announce? How will it look? What other things will it have? (Hoping for a second nub stick) and can you tell if I’m a Sony fanboy?

I did not expect the fire type to look OK haha. The Water and Grass the types :|

  • Jaxx-Leviathan

The final stage of the water-starter looks pretty badass. Final stage of Smugleaf reminds me of Milotic.

    You guys are all stupid.
I guess if they’re fake we’ll all just be very surprised.
But if they’re not, then here you are.
None of them look “bad,” or “ugly.”
I’m willing to bet 3/4 of the people with complaints couldn’t even draw a stick figure. Grow up and learn to find the good in things, instead of only bitching.
