Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon Crawling Inside D3

By Spencer . September 6, 2010 . 2:49am

imageD3 Publisher is planning another giant insect invasion. The publisher opened a teaser site for Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, which is… unfortunately empty. Screenshots, a release date, and system information will have to wait for another day.

We’re sure this is an official D3 Publisher project, though. D3 Publisher registered the domain name for Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon on August 13, 2010.

Earth Defense Force 2017 was released on Xbox 360. Sandlot, the makers of the Earth Defense Force series, just finished up Zangeki no Reginleiv for Wii this past February.

Thanks for the tip Samuel!

  • Sweet! Earth Defense Force 2017 was a blast to play two player on! I hope it gets localized.

  • Please confirm this is a Sandlot title!!!

  • Siliconera and EDF go way back! It’s almost nostalgic…

Apparently, there was a banner at a GameStop conference that said “Earth Defense Force Returns…2011”. I still play EDF 2017 frequently, and I’m just glad to see D3 is still doing something with it.
My only hope is that Sandlot returns as well. The way they really make you feel like you’re fighting giants in their games is really something.

  • Man, EDF is probably my FAVOURITE shooter of this gen.

    Think about it!

I am so much more excited about this than I should be.

Each time I heard that, I told him “No, keep your eyes open, there are freaking spiders everywhere!” And then they died.

  • My, my, oh my. This had better be coming out soon. My brother and I have been looking to kill more bugs recently.

What system will this be for?? And will it only be giant insects? What about my Godzilla clones? And what the hell’s wrong with Nintendo not releasing Reginliev outside Japan? That game rocks! It has 3 player Wi-Fi co-op!!
