By Ishaan . September 28, 2010 . 11:56pm

No information yet, but we have screenshots! It looks as if the new Fatal Frame will star what looks like a pair of twins. The game is being developed by Tecmo Koei and published by Nintendo. Click the screenshots to enlarge.

The temporary title is literally Zero New Title and its slated for next year.

Yes!!!!! I’m very excited about this!Fatal Frame is the best horror game ever!!! Thanks for the super fast news ishaan&spencer!(I don’t know why,but I feel like ishaan is spencer and spencer is ishaan)

  • New? This looks like a remake of Crimson Butterfly. Not that I have a problem with that… it was my favorite.

    • I agree.. it looks like they’re porting it to the Wii. Hopefully that’s not really the screen shots for the new Fatal Frame…

      • malek86

And at least from the shots, it looks like the same shoulder camera used for FF4.That better not be true.

    • The second was also my favorite. I was looking for a reason to play it again. Hopefully they shall release it in the US.

And hopefully it will not be a light gun game.

I wish to be excited about this, really I wish, but considering that the first fatal frame for wii never was localized my hopes are not high, unless that tecmo koei take the descision for localize this game.

    • Yeah, that’s holding me back too. =/ I’m glad it was at least fully fan translated, but still… Bugs me knowing it hasn’t been released here.

      • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Being a fan of horror games, it bugs me even more that Suda 51’s Fatal Frame didn’t make it when knowing that even second-rate imitations like “the Calling” and “Ju-On” got localizations…

        • joesz

The calling was a good game atleast the story was fair, but the ju-on sucked, very…much.

          • The controls in Ju-On felt like it was being possessed itself… although, it did offer a few legitimate scares, so I liked it. :/

    YEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes!!! Yes!! Yes!

  • malek86

Wait, is this FF2 remake or something? It looks the same, even the locations.

Well, except the new style kind of sucks.

  • dusk

Oh god! The last picture on the right scared the hell out of me. Am I the only one? I guess I just can’t play this game alone, even in the day.

  • malek86

“It looks as if the new Fatal Frame will star what looks like a pair of twins.”

Oh, Ishaan, now we know you’ve never played FF2.

  • Xeahnort

Meh. Another Fatal Frame that will not see a western debut thanks to Nintendo´s wiseful decisions

    • Indeed. Unless it was riddled with bugs or something, I’m not sure why they would block out this series (I think that’s what more-or-less the case, but correct me if I’m wrong). It already has decent sized base and it wouldn’t have been the first horror title on the Wii.

Seeing how this seems like FF2 it would be a terrific introduction to a new audience if they want to experience a more polished (and more scary) experience after the first game.

    • Nintendo was looking into bringing Fatal Frame 4 over, but there is a reason why plans fell through and it ended up not coming over.

      • And what were those reasons? Every other FF game was on a PS console? :/

        • Kris

That wouldn’t be it. There were Xbox ports of some of the games.

  • I cried my eyes out after playing part 2, and I’m looking forward to this.

A new game would have been better though. No need for a remake, the original is fine the way it is.

So I guess we finally know where the Fatal Frame franchise has ended up this gen.

I don’t know whether to be happy or sad. I like the motion controlling, but want pretty HD graphics :(

  • A new version of FF2? I’ll bite if it comes to US. I bought a dirt cheap disc only copy of the game for XBOX but I’ll buy a complete package one to make up for it.

  • puchinri

But we’ll never get another Opoona on Wii, will we?

    I would play this if I wasn’t such a scaredy-cat.

    • Everyone that loved Opoona, team Elebits games or Zack & Wiki is the biggest loser this generation. Oh how I’d like to play another Opoona (with a better translation).

      • puchinri

We seriously are. And that sounds so good. I was hoping that if the soundtrack sees a release, we would get to see something more for the game anywhere. I feel like crying in my little, gamer corner now. vuv’
