Spencer’s note: Whoa! Return of the Frog Suit in Paper Mario. And… Chocobo Racing has on foot gameplay?
Wow, just wow. Please just take my money already! TAKE IT!
These games look pretty, but I feel like a lot of it is owing to my N64 nostalgic factor (Star Fox, Zelda), and the darker, action stuff just seems like ports of existing games (RE, MGS). But then again… I’m watching a 2D single-screen trailer for a 3D two-screen system, so what do I know. I guess it comes down to if you’re sold on the 3D itself applied to the tried and true (as well as willing to bust out the big bucks for it).
Just to clarify, both of the Resident Evil games are completely new titles, not ports or remakes.
I’m fairly sure “The Mercenaries” is a repack of the Mercenaries missions from RE4 & 5. The other one might be new though.
Wait! I have a question. Are all of these games in 3D? Is it like compulsory for all games for the 3DS to be in 3D? Because just like with the motion controls, (even though I have no idea how easy or hard it is in terms of programming), I really doubt that every single company have game developers that can program satisfactory 3D graphic for the games they’re working on. The last thing I want to hear is children collapsing after playing the 3D games due to some mistakes from the game makers, ala the banned episode of Pokemon in ’97, albeit for a different reason.
Or maybe I’m worrying too much about this, and it’s actually in good hands?
You can turn the 3D slider on and off. At E3, I played with a demo that had NES games in 3D with layers so I suppose anything can be in 3D.
There’s no word on whether it’s compulsary to have 3D in your game, but seeing as how all these titles are from big companies, they will most certainly be 3D.
Hah. I remember that fiasco. You’re talking about the “Porygon Seizure” episode right? Boy was that disastrous.
There’s probably a Youtube link but on second thought I won’t post it.
Anyway, I don’t think the 3D is compulsory, but I think most devs will go for it regardless. As for the drying up children’s eye-sockets, we don’t know until this thing is out for a few months.
Thanks to those Poke lights, all the lights in the anime that came afterwards were darkened and looked totally lame :(…
I’m a bit bummed that most of the games announced for the 3DS so far have been ports. It’s a bit too early to start off with this port frenzy, and it makes this 3D thing some more like a gimmick than an evolution of gaming since they’re not starting from scratch to make games that fully take advantage of what the 3DS can provide.
Again this trailer proves that Nintendo’s portables make their home consoles virtually useless/pointless. The Nintendo portables get the kind of support from Nintendo and 3rd parties that their home consoles never could (not since SNES) and I have always felt Nintendo puts way more effort into their hand held consoles then any of their supposed “main” platforms.
Lots of games I’d love to play. I used to be an RPG-only and nothing else player but I’ve opened up to other genres these past few years so I’m loving all those ports. I will definitely be picking up a 3DS….I just don’t know when. Not at launch though, I want a better looking 3DS. :P
