Dead Rising, Street Fighter II Coming To iPhone

Capcom are continuing their aggressive iPhone push and recently announced a bunch of new games for the iPhone and iPod Touch, including Street Fighter II and Dead Rising: Mobile, as reported by Famitsu.

Street Fighter II is part of a Capcom Arcade app. Slated for a November release, the app will initially allow you to play older Capcom games such as Street Fighter II, 1942, Ghouls & Ghosts and Commando, with a new game added each month.

The Capcom Arcade app is interesting because you can use one of two payment methods. The first is essentially free. You’ll get free arcade “tokens” that are replenished once everyday that you can use to play these titles. The second involves paying an upfront price for the app, and you can play your collection of games as you please.

Dead Rising: Mobile on the other hand, is an iPhone-optimized remake of the original Dead Rising. Dead Rising: Mobile has an interesting multiplayer feature: if you die during the game’s regular single player mode, you can send out an S.O.S. of sorts via Twitter or Facebook, and have your friends hop into the game and help you out.

Dead Rising: Mobile is slated for an iTunes release sometime this Winter.

Finally, Street Fighter IV for iPhone, which Capcom have been adding features to religiously since its launch, is due for another free update. This one will add more characters to the roster and a new multiplayer feature where someone with an iDevice in your vicinity will be able to challenge you in the middle of the singplayer ladder, just like at an arcade.

You’ll also be able to view your opponents’ “player card,” which will display their statistics, including wins and losses. The last updates to the game added Crimson Viper, Cammy and E. Honda, so it should be interesting to see who’s next in line.
