    New Shenmue! Cool.

    *double take*

    Cell phone… T_T

    • It’s not for cellphones. It’s for internet browsers, like IE or Firefox. It doesn’t make it any less disappointing though.

      • Joanna

But is it in Japanese? If it is, then this means nothing to me.

  • Pesmerga00

At first I was like :O but then I waNEEERRRRDDD RRRRAAAGGGEEE!!!!!

    • Aoshi00

lol me too, got excited for 2 secs..

Please, for the love of… somebody make Shenmue 3. If Yakuza 3, Kenzan, 4, Kurohyo, and I’m sure 5 is not far, could me made in such a short time, then a meager third installment could be done for Ryo, the man needs to avenge his pa!

      • Pesmerga00

        So true.

I know the original budget was astronomical, but they would have an easier time these days. This may be heresy but, they could use the Yakuza engine. as long as its story focused it could be good. Hell, reuse some assets, just give me an ending. T_T

      • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

I imagine the sales for 1-2 must have been dirt-poor for Sega not to give the 3rd one a chance.

…But then again, they only brought 2 to the UK, and then put 2 on the original xbox, where there was no market for that kind of game. What did they expect?

        • Aoshi00

Not to mention they canned 2 on the Dreamcast and it was only available on the Xbox here.. I remember someone saying here the Yakuza series actually doesn’t sell very well in Japan either, but they are hyping it to make it look like it’s a big hit.. Yakuza HD basically took the Shenmue formula and ran w/ it, they could just make a Ryo DLC skin and it would feel like playing Shenmue.. Sega must know that Shenmue has fans though, his forklift and bike are in the Sega Allstar racing games, and now this.. just give us a proper sequel, it’s like Blue Dragon, people just wanted a sequel on the 360, not stupid anime/manga and spin offs on the DS :(..

          • Pesmerga00

Blue Dragon is really an under appreciated game. I would love to see a 360/PS3 sequel.

Honestly I have liked all of the Gooch’s latest offerings. Unfortunately the sales don’t seem to agree with me. With the way He has been going on with his blog posts, I hope this isn’t his last game. Would be a sad day in gaming indeed.

Here’s to The Last Story being amazing(and localized)! Some Xenoblade localization news would be great as well.

          • Aoshi00

I agree w/ you 100%, been enjoying all the new games from the Gooch while S-E offers me nothing. I recently just started replaying Blue Dragon (for some reason I missed a lot of achievement when I played it years ago, I guess I wasn’t familiar w/ it then as it was my first 360 game, and it was on a 23″ instead of 46″, also installing now seems to get rid of the loading and screen tearing), and man it’s really fun, just plain old school bliss w/ some new elements thrown in, just like Lost Odyssey or Archaic Sealed Heat. I’m saddened his games didn’t sell either. I hope Last Story would do well and this is not his last hurrah, but 3rd party games on the Wii have a history of lukewarm reception, so that has me worried too.. it would be horrible if they are not localized.. BTW, my sis went to ComicCon yesterday, she text me and was excited FF7 is coming out next year, I told her that the PSP fighting game. Then she got excited about FF14 and took a pic, I told her it’s a MMORPG that one needs to pay monthly fees to play, lol.. FF is like dead to me now.. let’s see where they go w/ Versus 13.

          • Pesmerga00

[Can’t reply to your other post, so I’ll put it here.]

Ha Ha, you got the Eternity Boss music in my head now. If you haven’t already, you should download the Ultra Hard Mod. It’s free and it makes the game better by adding some challenge. Also the shuffle dungeon is nice too, only 80pts. Can’t go wrong with either.

FF hasn’t been living up to it’s previous standards to me either. I’m actually looking forward to Versus though. It seems to have exploration, (something FF13 lacked) a world map, airship, and overall more of what I expect from a FF. So, I’m cautiously optimistic.

As for FF14, I just cant get into MMO’s at all. Too much time required, plus the monthly fee(the community can be a bit elitist at times too). The world looks nice though. Seems fun to explore. I wish it had an offline mode like PSO used to.

          • Aoshi00

Thanks, I did try the ultra hard mode before, but my party got wiped out by some ghost in the hospital (after the driller), too hard even w/ my new game+ lvls. I actually d/l’ed the shuffle dungeon from the Jpn mktplace before (it was 300 pts) but never replayed it to see what it does, wonder if that DLC would work w/ the US game. I think I would just stick w/ normal to max out my classes for the achievement. Also playing it in Eng. this time is refreshing, I played it in Jpn before. I think the Eng. dub is pretty good. VS13 looks good so far, I’m trying to keep my expectation low so I wouldn’t be disappointed again, the airship and world map are definitely welcome, it looks cool w/ the cars and all but I’m not that excited about it, I hope they could finally surprise me.P.s. just beat Enslaved, it is AWESEOME :) what an experience, not as long as Nier, but still great.

  • joesz

I think you should also add fairy tail, right?

  • this is a spit in the face

  • Hhnnngghhhh. All right, against my better judgment, I’ll say that I can live with this. At least it means the brand lives on in some form, after all, and that gives me hope.

  • Someone drive a forklift into SEGA’s welcome desk and demand a real Shenmue 3.

  • I’m looking for some sailors.

  • F*U SEGA!
