Neptunia In February, Ar Tonelico Qoga In March Says Gamefly

By Spencer . November 18, 2010 . 12:07pm

While Hyperdimension Neptunia and Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel have specific dates in Europe, all we have in North America are vague "spring" timelines for those titles. Nevertheless, Gamefly claims to know the dates of both games.

According to the rental service, Hyperdimension Neptunia is slated for February 17. That date is inline with the "few weeks prior" comment from NIS America. Ar Tonelico Qoga is pegged for March 17, which is also a little earlier than the European release.

In addition to these titles, NIS America also has Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! and Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle coming out for PSP next year.

Wow, NISA has been busy! Didn’t expect either of these so soon. Such a pleasant surprise. :3

  • Lovely. Earlier than I expected. But still well worth waiting for. Need to get at least Ar Tonelico 3 to get a finish to the series. Hopefully NISA will create some nice combo for preordering the game.

As for Neptunia. I´m not 100% sure. More like 50-60% sure that I will get it. I need to see more gameplay videos. If it´s just a better version of Trinity Universe with “those scenes” then probably not.

If it is a interesting battle system then I´m all go for it.

  • M’iau M’iaut

Neptunia before Ar Tonelico actually makes a bit of sense. Ar Tonelico is the more known (relatively speaking) title so by putting it second you lessen the chance someone passes over Neptunia because they are playing ATIII.

As if anyone here wasn’t planning to buy them both anyway. And if you get both of those out in the Spring window, you can do Totori for Summer and leave the biggest gun (Disgaea 4) for something closer to the holiday window.

    • Barrit

I’m in the “buying both games” camp for sure.. well actually I’m buying all 4 of those games you named when they’re released.

I checked out ATIII a while back and was very impressed by it. I saw in wiki that ATIII is set 2 and a half years later than ATII, so I’m just hoping I won’t be totally confused since this will be my first AT game to play.

  • Yukito

Busy indeed. The thing is, I wasn’t expecting Neptune so soon. I was sort of hoping for AT3 first. I am still sort of skeptical with Neptune though, since the gameplay REALLY makes me think Trinity Universe.

    • It’s different enough. Xenosaga meets Mana Khemia is an OK comparison.

    • HarryHodd

I thought the gameplay was the best thing about Trinity Universe, so if it’s similar then great.

      • OMG speaking of Trinity Universe…I hope its a part of NISA sale on their store next week…

      • Yukito

It isn’t like I hated it, but it just felt….. I dunno, bland to me. I love turnbased games, but I dunno, I think it might be the environments. I hate how in battle, you seem like you are 5000 yards away from any walls or anything, even when in a small cave or classroom in TU. Looks the same in Neptune, and though it is a small tiff, it is still a tiff.

        • HarryHodd

I agree the environments were boring in TU and we kept having to go
back to them but they were just expanded. That is my biggest complaint, but for me the battle system was fun enough to continue playing until the ending.

          • Yukito

Yeah, same. It isn’t much the battle system, as it is the environment feeling similar. I just wish it didn’t look so wide open like it does. I stuck out TU till the platinum trophy, and enjoyed it, but really, I just wish they could make the battle areas a bit more…..attractive.

  • Can’t WAIT for Ar Tonelico 3 :D So excited!

  • raymk

Well Its official once more…sigh i’m going to be broke early next year because of so many great games thanks guys :(

  • I hope all lines are voiced………………….

That being said, I wonder will NISA will issue a response.

    • Neckbear

I actually read somewhere Neptunia was fully voiced.

About AT, I ‘unno, but I very much doubt so. AT games usually have a shitload of text, and voicing it all would be quite…expensive.

    • Zeik56

Disk space was a large reason why Ar Tonelico didn’t get a full English dub, which shouldn’t be a problem on the PS3.

    • mach

If you’re talking about English voices, it’s not gonna happen. Trinity Universe and Cross Edge had all the blu-ray space you could need, but NISA still only dubbed a portion of the lines that were voiced in Japanese. It’s an understandable cost saving measure, but don’t expect it to go away anytime soon.

  • HarryHodd

Great! One month to play Neptunia then the awesomeness of Ar Tonalico Qoga lands. NISA rocks! I will Pre-order both. Disgaea in the summer too. Now all I need is an Atelier Totori announcement.

  • i have to beat the tests so i can play these without regrets…. damn you college..

    • Yeah I hate that, the time I decided to play a game instead of tackling a tests I regretted it (darn Assassin’s Creed II and its addictive story mode!).

    • :( I’m having exams every week when this gets released. Then I’ll have a month of easter to enjoy it, and then… It’s finals

    • SolidusSnake

Yeah, I’ve got my final semester coming up after christmas and I already know it’s gonna be a grade-A ballbuster… not sure whether I should cough up the money for the inevitable limited-edition so it can sit on my shelf all purty-like till the summer or just hold off. Haha yeah right I know I’ll buy the LE. Can’t resist the cardboard box and soundtrack.

      • You saved your most difficult classes for the final semester? Arent you doing it wrong?

        • SolidusSnake

Nope, I’m doing it right. You don’t always get to choose your classes, brother.

          • Oh yeah, in the US you can choose what to see in high school right? Here we just see everything X_x, and in the university… well, at least i can focus in maths wich is my “forte” still, pretty crazy

    • SolidusSnake

Where you from bro? In the US you can usually pick which classes you take, but for certain majors you have to take the classes in a certain sequence… to use a basic example you gotta take alegbra before you take trigonometry, but for me all of my classes have gotta be taken in a certain order. And the last semester is notoriously hard for my program. >_<

Needless to say I'm gonna be playing games like a demon during our x-mas break.

      • Oh, well your high school is just like my university (and your university as well) you can choose what to see, you need to see X class before being able to see Y class.

Im from Venezuela, northern part of south america, schools around here dont have that system, we see everything in highschool, in the last 2 years you can choose to go “science” route, mainly maths, physics, chemistry (but we still see stuff like literature, history, etc) or the “humanist” route, where you see more stuff like latin, a more inclined literature and all its derivates, they also see math, but an easy one.

Lol this routes thing sounds like a game xD

        • SolidusSnake

Haha! Too bad there’s no save points for multiple endings. But there’s always reincarnation I guess :3

  • Will be getting both. I liked Trinity Universe so I hope it’s similar to that. It was smart of them to put the lesser known game out first too.

    • Gestahl

I wish I liked TU as much as you… Can’t get into it no matter how hard I try. The battle system is just too convoluted without any good reason.

Oh well, maybe it’s just me. I have more faith in Gust, so I’ll pick up AT3, I think.

  • MizuMikomi

I am only interested in two of those titles in particular… Neptunia, and Prinny 2. I am so happy that Neptunia is coming out that early, even though I was expecting it, seeing that makes me a lot more excitement.

I’ve never tried the Ar Tonelico series, nor do I have a desire too. And Phantom Brave really doesn’t interest me all that much, even though I know that I will “eventually” purchase it.

    • Ereek

Just curious, what do you have against Ar tonelico?

      • MizuMikomi

Nothing, I am just not interested in the series, its never appealed to me for some reason. I didn’t mean for it to sound like I hated it, I just don’t feel like giving it a chance. My backlog is large enough as is.

And sorry for such a late reply, I have been busy, very very busy. Lol

  • Slashlen

I might as well just block out Feb/Mar in my calendar as “NISA”.

  • Finalstar2007

    Buying both games

  • Okay, time to start budgeting for next year, because I definitely need both of these titles. Already pre-ordered and paid for Dead Space 2, Portal 2’s delayed until April, and then there’s Yakuza 4, Little Big Planet 2, Mass Effect 2 (which damn well better be the greatest game in history after how much the 5 people I know with 360’s have hyped it up for me. I will be very cross with them if it’s another Bioshock situation, where they talk it up and talk it up and then I play it and think, “Well, this is okay, I guess.”), and Marvel vs. Capcom 3. I guess I could hold off on ME2 and LBP2…So many games… I’m sure I’m forgetting something I want, too…

    • Gestahl

Don’t set your expectations up too much for Mass Effect 2.

  • Methylene

    *misses all the points*

    “BEET” up?

  • JustaGenericUser

Holy crap, Neptunia falls right on my birthday!

  • M’iau M’iaut

And in other NIS news….which I’m sure many of you got Prinny Bombed about, March will also see the DVD release of Working!!!

Gosh darn these guys and their love of my money.

  • Darkrise

I can’t wait till Neptunia and ATIII… By then I hope to have my “promised” PS3 along with Atelier Rorona, Trinity Universe, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Disgaea 3 and 4, Folklore, Tales of Graces F- what the… Oh boy I’ll be missing for months…
