Lunar: Silver Star Story Is Now A Story You Can Read (Without Playing The Game)

By Spencer . December 1, 2010 . 1:06pm

imageGame Arts has a novelized version of Lunar: Silver Star Story, which has just been translated into English.

Amazon has Lunar: Silver Star Story Volume 1 – The Call of the Wind available for Kindle. Yes, it’s an e-book, but you don’t need a Kindle to read it. There’s a Kindle app for the iPhone and Android OS devices.

Really neat to see Game Arts localize works specifically for Lunar fans, if it wasn’t for digital distribution this probably wouldn’t have happened.

  • Well the Kindle Books can also be read on a computer

Sounds awesome nonetheless, now I can avoid the game. (a shame they didnt make it an audiobook with full on actual voice acting, now that would be simply stunning!)

    • I’m sure the game is much better than this book is going to be.

    • SolidusSnake

?? You can avoid the game only if you don’t mind missing out on one of the best RPGs ever.

    • WonderSteve

Why would you want to avoid the game???

Charming RPG…and you are also going to be missing some of the best music in RPG ever…

      • Darkrise

I think it has to do with no voice acting in the game=no buy.

        • there is VA…

        • WonderSteve

          Seriously??

There is VA, but selected scenes only.

    • Same. I am looking forward to getting the story without having to slog through the borefest that was the RPG.

  • There’s also a free kindle app for PCs and Mac I think too.

  • masuto

    But is the novel free?

    • thaKingRocka

      $7.95
I find this all so odd that I may just buy it.

  • WonderSteve

It is in my iPod’s kindle app!

I can’t believe this would happen..since the novel is more than 10 years old…I think?

    I want to read Eternal Blue’s novel too…. :(

  • lmao I know the story, the lines, everything by heart.

  • Ereek

I feel like I’m behind on the times. I didn’t even know this was coming out.

  • omg i love the cover

  • Buying now!

  • pacanug

While not a huge Lunar fan, this is a cool little treat from Game Arts.

  • maxchain

I’m glad this was how I found out there’s a Kindle-format reader for the PC. Count me in.

  • Pichi

Glad to see them doing this. I hope for other novel stories that are stuck in Japan can do the same. Especially manga that takes place after the game, giving us more story and such.

  • This gives me an idea… how about Atlus localize the Dept. Heaven World Guide as an e-book?

  • Is it just an e-book in Japan, also? I’d rather have a hard copy for $15-$20, than pay $8 for a digital copy.
