See The Mega Man Legends 3 Bonne Mecha Contest Finalists

The voting drive for the Bonne mecha contest for Mega Man Legends 3 over at Capcom’s community site is complete, and so far, the list has been narrowed down to five nominees from Japan and the U.S. each.

One of these ten entries will ultimately have their creation put in the game.

Let’s begin with the Japanese entries. Entry #1, which is the concept image above, is Donner Wels by kobun 46. Other entries are the Turtle Raft, Crumbly Crayfish, Spiny Lobster, and a mech whose name hasn’t been decided upon yet.

All four entries have incredibly detailed concepts and write-ups, which you can view over at Capcom’s community site. And now, onto the North American entries. First up, is Bernhardt, the Triple Changer Bonne Mecha.

The other four are: Seeteufel, Scylla, Mecha Duck, and the Panzerbohrer. These five, too, have very thorough write-ups that you can find over at the Capcom blog.

  • “One of these eight entries will ultimately have their creation put in the game.”

I’m counting ten dude, unless you are throwing the Duck and some other out already XD

  • Darn… at the end i couldnt get into the contest thanks to my university’s test… T.T
And not to be cocky or anything (seriously) but if those won in the NA i think i could had stand a chance, of course, i didnt do anything at the end so im no one to talk, i already had some sketches drawn when they announced they would do this…

What i like of my idea, and is something i dont see much on the people here, is that i at least made the robot to had some special caracteristics for each of the Tronne family (since this fight is special because you fight againts the three at the same time), most of the robots here is just one big and cool robot, wich i imagine the 3 of them would be inside of them, even if they can transform (or change color) i dont think it would be much of a big deal. But it wouldnt feel that kind of a different and new kind of battle.

Anyway good for the people that made it until here, i wonder who will win, im not really fond to any of them, maybe the turtle one would be the one that called my attention the most

  • Watch the duck win this one.

  • woah i like the Bernhardt~

  • neocatzon

Panzerbohrer looks like a tuned down chronoforce (zx advent)…

  • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

The Berhhardt design is really well thought out… very pro.
I like how the designer for the unnamed purple submarine shark already thought of numerous working attack patterns.

    • I think Bernhardt’s got this one in the bag, frankly. Any designer’s got to look at that and go, “Man, we could base so many different kinds of moves off this thing’s design.” The artist just made their jobs more interesting, imo, and that should count for a lot.

      • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

The 3 in one is so functional it’s almost cheating… Don’t like one form? Check out the other 2! Heck it’s on par with, if not better, than a lot of mechas capcom has design for Megaman. Maybe they should just hire this guy. XD

    • That thing fooled me into thinking it’s an official mecha art with the colouring, detail and absence of rough sketches. If I didn’t read this article, I would’ve believed that’s official stuff

  • thebanditking

The “fish” thing has been done to death in the MM series so my vote is for the electric whip bot, who kind of looks like a bunny.

  • SneakyHawk

I’m liking the Triple Changer Bonne Mecha.

  • cmurph666

I’m voting for the Triple Changer.

  • Bernhardt~ Or the Duck. I can’t decide which is more epic.

  • RAVENKam

Bernhardt needs to win this, seriously.

  • Either Donner Wels, Turtle Raft or Triple Changer Bonne Mecha I woulde be happy to see. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Capcom add a few of these as mini-bosses or full bosses at the end of some dungeon, as a “runner-up” prize, as some of them are at least good designs.
