Capcom May Yet Develop Another Fighter For Wii

Recommended Videos

Don’t get your hopes too high just yet, but at the same time, don’t lose hope either. If you’re wishing for another fighter on the Wii, Capcom may yet develop something to satisfy that craving.

Over at the Capcom-Unity boards, Capcom’s Christian Svensson has been answering another round of fighting game fan queries, some of which were specifically to do with the Wii, like this one:

You said there’s, "maybe something else somewhere," in regards to another fighting game project. Ryota Niitsuma said "it would be a waste to develop only one Wii fighter for the TvC stick," and you added that there are an undisclosed number of Wii projects in development, is it possible there’s another fighting game project on the Wii coming from Capcom or 8ing?

Svensson: Not a chance that I’m commenting on this the way you’re asking. :-X

I will say, we have recently released several virtual console arcade titles for Wii. We’ll see what else the future holds later.

Let’s run that through the translator for a second. Translation: “No comment, because whatever I say is going to get twisted and contorted by people to suit their own theories. That said, let’s wait and see.”

Fans will want to note that 8ing is the company that developed Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Castlevania Judgment, as well as Fate: Unlimited Codes on the PSP. In reply to a later question asking for a Street Fighter game on the Wii, Svensson also said that these requests had been duly noted (once again, no confirmation).
