About a year ago, Atlus acquired Gonzo Rosso Online KK, an online content distribution company, from the GDH group (the owners of the Gonzo anime studio), as a subsidiary, as part of their expansion plans into the online games space and Asian markets. The company is now named Rosso Index, as a reference to Atlus’ parent company, Index Holdings.
Rosso Index are the developer of an MMORPG titled Pandora Saga, which is being published in English by Atlus Online. From December 16th through December 19th, Atlus will be holding a closed beta for the game.
Registration for the closed beta is already concluded, but if you haven’t registered yet, you might be able to acquire a registration key yet, through a number of MMO sites, such as OnRPG.com, MMORPG.com,MMOhut.com, and MMOsite.com.
Atlus point to a multi-tier job class system and a blend of RPG and large-scale battles as the appeal of Pandora Saga, and promise that those who enter the beta won’t find the amount of content packed in to be lacking. They’re even accelerating the experience curve so players can build their characters faster and explore more of the game in the four days they’ll have.
If you enter the closed beta, you have a shot at winning a Premium Ticket for the open beta. Atlus are handing these out to the first 300 people to log in each day during the closed beta. A Premium Ticket will yield higher experience and drop-rates and minimize the death penalty in the open beta.
The closed beta is set to conclude with a “War or Nations” event from 5:30pm to 9:00pm PT on December 19th, meant to demonstrate the game’s large-scale battles. Pandora Saga is slated for a release sometime in early 2011 on the PC.
