This week’s Virtual Console update is a sight you don’t behold very often — a Nintendo 64 release, in the form of Mario Party 2 for 1,000 Wii points (that’s $10).

And having a party of his own is Frobot, who you may remember from the jazzy trailer. Frobot is for 1,000 Wii points, too, but there’s a free demo up that you can download and try first.

And finally, DSiWare sees the release of Dragon’s Lair II: Time Warp, another animated arcade classic by Don Bluth. This one costs 800 DSi points ($8).

  • Hey Ishaan, I saw Agetec also released a DSiWare title today. Are there any details out on what that is exactly?

    • Yes, there is! That seems to be some sort of an action-adventure game called Paul’s Monster Adventure (500 points). There’s a land with creatures called “Bosses” who once ruled it. Then the people rebelled against them and began to steal their food, and the bosses are now starving to death.

You’re supposed to steal food and bring it to the bosses, but without being noticed by the rebellious inhabitants. You have a hammer you can use to knock them out temporarily if you get caught. It mentions interacting with characters, finding items etc. etc. as if it were a regular action-adventure.

      couple screens:

  • They could have at least done a version and given some online multiplayer to Mario Party.

      Holy crap… That’d be cool.

  • Mario Party 2 FTW, omg yes…

Perfect! I recently lost My Mario Party 2 cartridge and have been missing it so.

  • You can get Nintendo Wii Points for free when you sign up for Gold Flow Points and refer friends or family. Check it out at

Mario Party 2 WAS always the best Mario Party…
