A Second Cursed Crusade Trailer Takes Us To War

By Ishaan . January 13, 2011 . 2:10pm

Atlus USA released a new trailer for The Cursed Crusade, a medieval action game in development at Kylotonn Entertainment. Unlike the game’s debut trailer which was a bit of a teaser, this one has more in-game footage, showing off the combat.

The Cursed Crusade also appears to have some sort of fantasy element, judging by the demonic conversion at the end. Unfortunately, we’re still not sure just what the game involves aside from combat yet. Atlus have The Cursed Crusade slated for Summer 2011 on the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3. Presumably, we’ll hear more about the game after Trine 2 releases in Spring.

  • Well Atlus this trailer has sold me on the game. I love what they do with the camera angles and those attacks (though seeming to rip off of the moves of Ezio Auditore de Firenze) look splendid. Although the medieval period is over used, I have faith that this game will hopefully differentiate itself from others. I so can not wait to hear and see more!

  • Looks cool, and im probably going to get it, but i just can’t shake the feeling the conversation went like this…

    One day in Atlus’s offices:

“Hey guys! This game looks like Demon Souls, i dunno it has a similar atmosphere!, lets release this!”

“Uh…? Weren’t we going with Luminous Arc 3?”

“Forget it! How much fame you think we got with Demon Souls!? Baka!”

    “Oh, ok… :(”

PS: I don’t intend to offend anyone neither badmouth Atlus, this is just what i feel xD, i still like the company, i just think they are really going a lot for the safe side of the economy’s road lately… Not that i can blame ’em. Hope they get enough confidence with more money in their pockets to localize Catherine…

The “Baka!” was a very very nice touch hahaha.

Really? I don’t get that feeling at all. It might have helped that it looked like Demon’s Souls, but they’ve also been releasing more western niche titles lately (IE Trine, Zeno Clash). It’s not really a sudden jump, just gradual over the last few years.
There’s a lot of possible money in these smaller western games (Need I mention Minecraft as one of the more recent indie examples?) and Atlus is trying to get on the bandwagon.

      • Yeah D:, that is why i think they have been taking the safe road a lot lately. Is good for them i know, but i would prefer if they bring more of non-so-western releases too, like before…. At least they are bringing radiant historia, but that one comes directly from Atlus jp so maybe they “made/asked” Atlus US to localize it.

Of course if they announce Catherine (since is from Atlus, more chance!), all doubt i have now of Atlus will be gone…

“They are still the same :’D ” I’ll think

I’m kinda tired of Medieval. I got all the medieval I could possibly stand from the three LOTR movies

    • Dude, Ive been dying to watch those again, however, the movie companies are so slow to release the extended editions on Blu-Ray. I dont want to see the dvds agains or watch it unextended, lol, its just not the same.

I apologize for the off-topic post, but this article reminds me:

What ever happened to Dungeon Siege 3? We got a burst of news a while back, and then nothing.

    • From Square Enix? Maybe they are waiting to get Mindjack out?

    • Hmm… the last thing I heard was it was slated for Q1, but silence perhaps suggests a delay.

Awesome,I wanna have a silver/white armor with a big cross on the plate, those crusaders armors were badass!.

  • Guts! Is that you?

Now, I wish a Berserk game for current generation.

  • Wow, that really DOES look like Demon’s Souls.

  • This has potential. And if I may say so, looks pretty as hell. I will be keeping an eye out for this. And that spear kill….wow.

  • PrinceHeir

    very Assassin Creed like ^^

will see if this game turns out good.

  • Fighting looks very solid for a game that’s still in development stages. I get the feeling the story will be a slow burn, going from mundane to “hmmmm…” to the supernatural. Done right, this will be a very good game.

I’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
