Rurouni Kenshin: Saisen, Namco Bandai’s PSP fighting game based on the Rurouni Kenshin anime, will cover the series all the way through its Kyoto arc. Naturally, this means Shishio and his Juppongatana are present and accounted for, as are members of the Oniwaban ninjas, like Misao.

Shishio Makoto (vs. Aoshi):

Seta Soujiro (vs. Kenshin)

Anji (vs. Sano):

Usui (vs. Saito):

4Gamer have more screenshots of Rurouni Kenshin: Saisen, if you’re eager to see them. The game is due for release on March 10th, 2011 as part of Rurouni Kenshin’s 15th anniversary celebration.

    Ah….. the memories…… the beautiful memories…….

Agreed. I think everyone who watched the series/read the manga, has fond memories of it, at least I know that I have them~

Looking forward to the game, just hope that it isn’t too slow paced as some handheld fighters are. And it says part, does that mean we eventually might see more of Rurouni Kenshin this year?

Loved the manga. It’s in my top five :D Anime was also great.

“does that mean we eventually might see more of Rurouni Kenshin this year?”

Japan will, I doubt the west will, especially Europe.

Seriously. I’m nostalgia-ing so hard right now. I’ll probably end up rereading the manga which I happen to own in its entirety. That was one of the first series I went through and got every volume of, actually.

I probably wont get this game due mainly to the fact that I just don’t care for fighting games, but it’s looking quite pretty and I’m tempted to at least try it before I completely disregard purchasing it.

Uhm, at least they have a nice selection of characters. But i’m afraid the game won’t be too good. I’ve read some bad impressions about it.

Graphics look ok, but isn’t there too much of a difference in shading between the head and the rest of the body?

  • Cloud_ST

I loved that arc so much, the desperation from the seemingly inevitable defeat and the passion in the battles, probably the best Arc in the entire manga,IMO.

  • Aara_Malik_Davoodi

Wow, that’s a lot more characters than I expected. Sweetness. Definitely getting this so they hopefully make more Kenshin games

  • Apollokids

Kenshin was unique. It start really lighthearted and fun and slowly builds up. And then enters Saito. Nothing is ever the same after that meeting.

    • malek86

Yu Yu Hakusho was even worse. It starts out lighthearted fun, then it becomes standard shonen, then the later chapters are nightmare fuel.

  • ipatz

They should at least include Enishi. I hope they make a sequel for 3DS. I’m not getting PSP for just a game.

  • PrinceHeir

reminds me of Tatsunoko vs Capcom which is excellent :)

Hey speaking of nostalgia, I just realized Yu Yu Hakusho just passed it’s 20th Anniversary since the manga came out in 1990. Where’s the game for that??

  • d19xx

    iWambo?

  • GVmanX

The game’s graphics look great for a PSP game.
