Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Tactically Approaches Europe In February

By Ishaan . January 17, 2011 . 10:27am

Back in December, an Amazon leak revealed the contents of a Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together limited edition: the game, a 44-page (not 48) art book, and a mini-soundtrack CD.

Square Enix Europe confirmed today that the premium edition will be touching down in Europe on February 25th. The PSP remake follows the story of the original Let us Cling Together, but also adds extra story content via additional free downloadable chapters.

The game also been updated with the unique C.H.A.R.I.O.T. combat that lets you turn back time during a fight. You can learn more here.

OMG For the first time you euros got it made!!! lol That is really cool thou, hopefully it means Vagrant Story and Xenogears aren’t to far off and square has thought out the release date for them on PSN.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Farid-Belkacemi/1073052585 Farid Belkacemi

Vagrant Story is available on the EU PSN since… last summer I think :) But Xenogears never came…

          • Zero_Destiny

OH man … Here I was hoping for a quick release on PSN. Well it looks like I’ll just have to wait until that magic day when they appear. Does Square EU plan to eventually release Xenogears over there as well? I can’t see why they shouldn’t.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Farid-Belkacemi/1073052585 Farid Belkacemi

I don’t know… Xenogears and other games like Chrono Cross were never released in Europe so I don’t think Square got some plans for us. Moreover, all the PSN RPGs are translated : Vagrant Story, FF 7/8/9 and Grandia (exception for that one, english only).

          • Zero_Destiny

Bummer. Haven’t played Xenogears yet but I can safely say Chrono Cross is a masterpiece [:( now I feel like I'm like rubbing it you're face sorry] Can only hope Square gives you guys those games thou. Other than that I guess I can’t say much more.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Farid-Belkacemi/1073052585 Farid Belkacemi

Don’t worry, I already have my Chrono Cross copy on Playstation (US Version) ! :D

I’m liking this trend of SE giving half price vouchers with their games. :) I’ve already got Vagrant Story but I could always give it to a friend and share the love.

I’m waiting to play this game I just hope that there aren’t any slowdowns like the War of the Lions in which the battles seemed so slow compared to the original.

    • Exkaiser

I’ve played some of the Japanese version, and you can rest assured that this remake suffers from none of the things that plagued War of the Lions. Spells don’t lag, the widescreen isn’t stretched to make everyone fat, and it’s overall a very excellent remake.

      • http://twitter.com/BurstDragon Kush クシュ

Thanks for telling that, now I don’t have to worry about that. Those slowdown were the only thing that kept stopping me from playing War of the Lions for longer play time.

  • Zero_Destiny

So wait euro gets an artbook and an sample OST and USA gets the tarot cards? Hhmm not sure which is better I’d probably go for the cards since there more original idea I guess. Good to see it’s not going to take too long for this games to hit Europe too.

    • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

What you mean to say is that, us Americans get nothing as the tarot cards are just for preorders, which could run out on day 1 like the useless psp decals did for Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep.

Europe gets the better deal and this time, with no time delay too >.<

      • Zero_Destiny

Well as long as you pre-ordered you should be fine. And if you’re really nervous then just make sure to come in early when the game’s released. I’m not sure if it’s the best example but I never have had a problem with pre-order bonuses, I’d usually don’t even go to the store to pick them up until like 5 or 6pm because I’m usually busy. But sadly it also seems like I’m the only person interested in this kind of stuff in my area lol so maybe that’s why. Besides I think the Tarot Cards are cool, unlike the lazy KH bonus.

Well, Considering we get the Tarot cards for free (and we can easily find the ost online, let’s be real here), I say we came out even. And if you preorder at a significant time away from the actual date (Don’t go in the store the day before and preorder the game and still expect to get the cards), you should be fine.

And honestly, expecting big things from preorder bonuses is kind of silly. I mean yeah, the decals WERE kinda lazy, but hey, they could’ve given us nothing; It’s not like we payed extra or anything, haha. Though I must say, the ReCoded Sticker with Mickey and Sora on it looks very nice on the back of my PSP.

I need to find some place to import the set from.

    Europe is soo lucky :D

T3B, Birth by Sleep, and now this.

damn you Square Enix US for not bringing this here.

at least they’re bringing Vagrant Story and Xenogears here.

now just put Parasite Eve Archives, Chrono Cross/Trigger, and we’re set to go ^^

    • Tom_Phoenix

      “Europe is soo lucky :D”

Trust me, we are not so lucky most of the time. Infact, usually, we are lucky if any given title is released here AT ALL.

I guess Japanese companies have finally noticed that there are actually…you know, PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PLAY THEIR GAMES here.

      • http://twitter.com/gabriel_may_uk Gabriel May

Eh the Special edition for handhelds isn’t that much to get excited about.

@ Tom-Phoenix this thing is, usually the people who want to play it is only a small number, hence why it’s understandable – if very fustrating – why they don’t bother.

  • kupomogli

I’d rather have the premium edition. Because if we were to get the premium edition and we preordered it we’d still get the tarot cards.

You notice how odd it is though. While Europe “didn’t” get as many games, they get far more premium editions and far better ones at that. In the US we barely get premium editions and when we do they’re either games I don’t care about(Call of Duty Black Ops,) or they’re games I do care about but they’re garbage premium editions(Batman Arkham Asylum.)

While I am glad for the few recent good ones we’ve received such as Ys3, Ys7, Demon’s Souls, for games I’m actually interested in, I wish we would get more. Nearly every game I’m interested in gets a premium edition in Japan recently.

  • http://twitter.com/spotted_slime L. R.

I think this is an apology of sorts for the EU countries getting shafted for so long when it comes to JRPGs…

  • Extra_Life

Hurrah! This has put me in a better mood after the crushing disappointment of region locked 3DS’.

  • http://twitter.com/gabriel_may_uk Gabriel May

If this does well in the UK I’ll be very surprised. and Happy. As for the limited edition nothing to write home about but with it likely to be only £5-10 more expensive then the standard edition, it’s still soemthing to go for. Would have loved the pack of tarot cards to come with it however.

As for the game, it should be awesome.

  • http://twitter.com/pipsterfinn Pip Murphy

I had been hoping for the tarot cards, as a more unusual bonus, but I’m always happy having an art book. :) No sign of the premium version on Game yet, but I’ll definitely switch my regular preorder to a premium one when they put it up.
