Don’t worry, that’s intentional. Gaijin Games are pushing the final Bit. Trip game as a more challenging Bit. Trip Beat with new modes. Here’s what they say Flux includes:
New Power-Ups including the Fullscreen Paddle
New Beat Types including “Avoid Blobs”
Mid-Level Checkpoints
Bit. Trip Beat gameplay with all the modes including a new “Meta Mode”
Bit Shifter returns as the Chiptune guest star
Bit. Trip Flux doesn’t have a release date yet, but Gaijin Games say it’s coming to WiiWare “soon.”
Considering the theme of this is returning home, it only makes sense that the last game has the paddle once more. It’s very appropriate once you think about it.
With the experience they’ve gained with the other games, and learning what the audience likes and doesn’t like, this game should be the perfection of what BEAT was. The fact that they have mid-level check-points now only proves that point– since BEAT sorely needed something like that.

They had a fixed version of Beat though, with changeable difficulty and 10 checkpoints per level for the iOS, it even has superb tilt controls that are actually better than the Wii’s in my opinion.
