Ghost Trick On iTunes Gets A Free iPad Upgrade

By Ishaan . February 3, 2011 . 2:01pm

Capcom’s Ghost Trick is presently available on the iTunes App Store in Japan. A recently released free update to the App will upgrade it to be optimized for the iPad, meaning nicer visuals on the iPad’s larger screen. Very generous of Capcom indeed.

The iPad update also gives Ghost Trick a couple of additional minigames that weren’t present in the iPhone and Nintendo DS versions of the game.

The first two chapters of Ghost Trick on iTunes are available for free. Subsequent chapters will need to be paid for if you want to continue playing through the story. We’ve covered Ghost Trick’s pricing structure on iTunes before, so you can read up on it here.

    • Sad. I wanted to play this on the iPad.

        Who says you can’t?

I’d thought a US release had already been confirmed for February?

    • get DS ver.

  • I don’t know why but all of the sudden I have the urge to say… WELCOME!!!
… That is if I give myself the time to find/make a thumbnail sized picture of a certain dog.

You could always use the picture of a torpedo.

      • I would, but then I’d have to actually make a Disqus profile instead of connecting to it via Facebook.

Woah, that dog’s got four tails?

    • Torpedo is just moving his tail fast D:

His name is Missile in the US version

        • Oh yeah, i didnt remember his name very well, but i knew it was that kind of a weapon, and i saw Testsubject909’s post so maybe that is why choose torpedo heheh

          • Testsubject909

My post was based on an end-game joke involving Missile.

Anyhow… You’re very WELCOME! Glad I could aid in providing confusion.

Aw, man, this game would be perfect for the ipad. And the first screenshot on this page looks way crisper than on my DS. I would totally buy it….if I had 600 dollars for an ipad that is

Still don’t have the urge to get an iPad yet.. I know I would get the more expensive 3G one if I ever get one to read and watch movies on the road, and we know iPad 2 would come very soon.. maybe this could get ported to the NGP? I just picked up the DS game the other day and haven’t tried it yet.. There really aren’t that many iphone or iPad games that I want to play yet.. I think PSP/DS/3DS/NGP are quite enough for portable gaming alrdy… I’m thinking of getting a Kindle to become a reader again.. my sis loves hers right now..

Very true. The iPad just isn’t worth it yet, especially if you’re looking for games. I did get a Kindle recently, though; I really like it. Books are usually like 40% of normal price, too, so you can make your money back pretty quickly depending on how much you read.

  • Typical, the day I get it in the post, it’s released on a platform that would be more suitable for me in my day to day life.

  • Eh I can live with the lack of mini games and I’d rather not have to pay for individual chapters. Still the enchanced visuals sound very appealing, espically as the game has a errie yet cute beauty to it on the DS.

Regardless I urge people to get any version of the game as it is amazing :D Chapter 5 is my fave chapter at the moment :D
