Legendary Trio of Johto Pokémon Event Kicks Off Over Nintendo Wi-Fi

Did you shed many a salty tear when Nintendo of America announced their Gamestop-exclusive Shiny legendary dogs event for Pokémon back in January? Cheer up, for the event is exclusive no more! Oh, and it’s online, making it far more accessible to non U.S. residents.

The Legendary Trio of Johto event kicked off today over the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection in the U.S., Europe and Australia.

Via the Wi-Fi connection Mystery Gift option, you’ll be able to grab yourself a Shiny level 30 Raikou today for all current gen (Nintendo DS) mainline Pokémon RPGs. Raikou will be available until February 13th and will be followed by Entei and Suicune.

Transferring the three legendary dogs over to Pokémon Black/White will allow you to capture Zoroark, who can’t be obtained through normal means. Once the Legendary Trio event concludes, Celebi will be made available over Nintendo Wi-Fi, too.

  • I’m so glad they decided to make this a Wi-Fi event. I wasn’t able to get to Gamestop for the weeks it was going on, so I’m finally able to get the dogs!

  • So, here’s a question. If one already got one of the dogs at Gamestop, will you be able to get a second this way, or are they mutually exclusive?

    • You’ll get a second set because they’re from different ‘owners’.

      • Sadly it doesnt work that way, it will say you have already done this event.

        • Wow, really? I find that absolutely counterproductive…

Oh well, I guess one too many legendary beasts in the ether would be a bad idea, huh?

    • No you wont, I just tried it and it says Ive already done the event so I can not get them.

  • Sweet, I’m glad for this 2nd chance.

  • This is good news, since I never got around to getting Raikou last month.

  • I have a friend that’s going to end up with five of each.

    • I have five of each

      • Zero_Destiny

Truly you’re a Pokemon Master. lol

      • I… was talking IRL friends.

  • Meh if I fail to get it, I’ll just use Action Replay codes.

    • YoFace

You have until Feb. 13th, for the first one. How much more time would you need to “fail to get it”?

      • Well I wish I had awesome wi-fi like you did. But in my area it’s sketchy as hell and I’m not going to travel around my town just to find a good wi-fi hotspot to get pokemon. so that is what I mean by “fail to get it”

    • PrinceHeir

      yes Action Replay FTW :)

they always have good Pokemon cheats :D i wonder if they also have all the DQ cheats?

    • D: Why Action Replay and not using the GTS trick?

  • Caligula

God, yes. It’s a hassle getting to downtown Winston-Salem from my college campus, so I’d resigned myself to just missing out on going to Gamestop. This wifi deal works out quite nicely.

  • do you need the three dogs in order to get zoroark or only one because i try to get raikou at 10 o clock on the 13th but instead i got an entei?

    • all.

    • I have an extra raikou. Did you get an extra entei by chance?

  • only turned on my ds today, got two suicines (pearl + soulsilver (y))

    transfered my mew event too.
