Team Ninja Host The First Dead or Alive: Dimensions Tournament

By Ishaan . February 11, 2011 . 4:02pm

Last week, Team Ninja held a Dead or Alive: Dimensions tournament in at Tecmo’s Tokyo office, which brought together some of the best DOA players from the U.S. and Japan to take Dimensions for a spin. You can watch a summary video of the tournament above.

Overall, tournament participants appeared to have had good things to say about Dimensions, including the winner of the tournament, who said he’d been with the series right from its origins on the Sega Saturn.

We’ll have more coverage of Dead or Alive: Dimensions next week, including some insight from Team Ninja head, Yosuke Hayashi, into just which game Dimensions is based on and what changes have been made to the fighting system.

  • So you can display the 3DS on a tv screen?

    • I would assume they had special equipment to allow for that. If you could connect it to a TV normally like the PSP, I’m sure Nintendo would’ve mentioned it by now…

I really want this game, but did anyone notice the major gameplay slowdown in the laboratory stage?

Attractive women in DoA, attractive women play DoA. That’s pretty awesome.

I can’t really be more excited for this game. I know what I’m getting and I want it. Cannot wait.

    I just want DoA5…

  • That Vanessa girl can beat the crap out of me any day. As well as on DoA Dimensions.

*ahem* man the camera work got reall shoddy towards the end.

Kinda bothersome the US had such an advantage, would be nice to know that the development team had constant feedback from top players to tweak the gameplay accordingly. I just hope this is successful enough for them to start work on doa5, and hope 5 can turn out closer to 3.1 than 4.
