Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Launch Trailer Recaps The Remake’s Features

By Ishaan . February 15, 2011 . 12:29pm

Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together is out today in North America, and Square Enix have released the final launch trailer for the game to give people a look at what they’re getting into. Unlike the last trailer, this one contains plenty of in-game footage, so put those pitchforks away.

Europeans will have to wait another ten days to pick up Tactics Ogre. Luckily, the wait will likely be well worth it, thanks to Square Enix’s Europe-only limited edition, which comes with a 44-page art book and soundtrack CD.

OMG this reminds me of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: Grimoire of the Rift so much in terms of the on field graphics and stuff and that is my pick for best DS game ever created; Im tempted to get the game with my gift card I received during Christmas. (but I just started ZHP, so this game will be sitting on the shelf until the summer :( argh decision decisions, buy now or buy later, gah!!!)

      lol.. ur back tsuna..

      • Tom_Phoenix

What do you mean he’s back? Did he ever actually leave?

      WHO NEEDS DECISIONS

      DAY ONE BABY

    • kupomogli

If you’re not going to play it until this summer then I’d recommend just waiting for a price drop. The game will have a sale or two by then I’m sure. While the PSP is my favorite system this gen and I’d rather say support it, you’re not doing anything illegal by waiting for a price drop, so just wait for it

  • PrinceHeir

so this game doesn’t have cutscenes in the style of The War of the Lions?

looks awesome. very old school like game :P

  • NoElixirs

    Vagrant Story is a boss.

This game is just way too deep for me… won’t have the time to get into it.

  • Apollonis

Looks amazing, it’s been too long since the last in-depth strategy RPG. I’m glad I pre-ordered for this and Yoshida’s incredible art with the cards. That guy needs more work.

I love when games have different paths to take, even if there are only 2 paths, it still makes you feel the game is more personal to you xD

    • Draparde

yeah, i love games that do that too. i also like when there’s more than one main character to choose from (like diffrent perspectives of the same story ect. even if i don’t normally complete both lol)

  • Airgetlam

Can’t wait to start playing this! Just have to wait for amazon to ship my copy.

  • Exkaiser

Playing it right now. Excellent remake of an excellent game.

Voice Acting? How is the story?! Dude do I need to buy this game today, is it that good?!

      • http://thrust-the-sky.deviantart.com/ WildArms

THE BEST GAME IN THE WORLD, THERE IS NO OTHER EXPERIENCE THAT COULD BE ATTAINED IN ANY OTHER WAY THAN WITH THIS GAME, YOU WILL SEE THE LIFE WITH A NEW MEANING, YOU WILL BECOME BRAVE AND HAVE NO FEAR TO ANYTHING! YOU WILL BECOME SMART! YOU WILL BE LOVED! YOU WILL GET MONEY FROM RANDOM PEOPLE!!

But no, it doesnt have voice acting, so i guess you can’t play it :P

J/k xD i dunno if it has voice acting, i have to get it though. Because i assure you (with what i remember when i played in the ps1) that the story is good.

      • Exkaiser

No voice acting. The story is the best. You need to buy this game.

Well, the opening video is voiced and the characters have death cries, but that’s it.

        • Ereek

I would make the argument that voice acting would hurt a game like this. With voice acting it comes off as a tad melodramatic, but without it’s much easier to swallow.

          • Darkrise

Problem is that TS thrives on voice acting on a game.

  • Aiddon

now hopefully they can get Matsuno started on Episode Eight of the saga (or do a Vagrant Story 2, that’s also good)

  • http://mrchucho.net Ralph Churchill

Great. Now I need a PSP.

  • Draparde

ugh i can’t believe i forgot about this game lol. i need to pick this up asap x.x

Mission accomplished! :D its tottaly mine

    • RupanIII

Same here, Feb seemed so far off o.o

  • Fonic

Got my copy with the tarot cards today. Haven’t opened it yet but I can’t wait to play it. The nostalgia alone will be great.

  • hadjimurad

does this game take place in ivalice or in the same gameworld? or is it just similar to FFT in game design? ivalice is so awesome.

    • kupomogli

While Ogre Battle doesn’t, Vagrant Story takes place in the same world as FFTactics, just pretty far away.

  • Tom_Phoenix

I would LOVE to buy this game, but I am unfortunately all strapped for cash right now. =(

Oh well, it is probably better that I play War of the Lions first, anyway, due to the worse loading times.

    • kupomogli

I’d recommend buying FFTactics on the PSX or the PSN version over War of the Lions. The only good thing about War of the Lions is the localization, and no, not that I think it’s any good, because I truly do think that they changed everything just to change it all(not one thing is localized the same.) The localization during the storyline just has a certain charm to it that makes it enjoyable to read, though you can’t go wrong with the original localization which is very good, even if it does get a lot of bad rap.

      • Tom_Phoenix

While I am grateful for the recommendation, I currently do not possess a PlayStation (we had one, but it was stolen) and I do not use digital distribution. As a result, War of the Lions is preety much my only option at this point in time.

Besides, I was under the impression that, aside from better localisation, cutscenes and slower loading times, the differences between the two versions were relatively minor?

  • http://twitter.com/gabriel_may_uk Gabriel May

The music used for the trailer is so Square Enix SRPG style :D. Anyway I’m very much looking forward to getting my hands on this game, which has one of the best titles ever (Let us Cling Together)

  • Darkrise

Neptune and my BRS LE pre-order killed my wallet for this month… I’ll be waiting for a while. =/
