Natsume’s First Nintendo 3DS Game Is Reel Fishing Paradise 3D

By Ishaan . February 17, 2011 . 11:07am

Natsume are the latest publisher to announce one of their flagship games for the Nintendo 3DS, this time in the form of Reel Fishing Paradise 3D, which is slated for release this spring.

Reel Fishing Paradise 3D has you travel to over a dozen fishing locations to learn the art of angling. You can mix and match fishing rods, reels, lines, lures and bait to create your personalized fishing gear. Natsume say that the game will come with a “huge variety” of fish, and that you’ll be able to collect rare items as well.

Naturally, Reel Fishing Paradise 3D will have fish jumping out of the screen at you. Natsume mention the game has Bluefin Tunas and Largemouth Basses…maybe they’ll throw a shark in there, just to surprise us?

  • Well the background environments look nice.

  • Is any of this actually worth the 250+ system and cost of the cartridge?

I mean, at that price, I could go do the real thing and spend a heck of a lot less AND feel like I’m outside doing something.

But, long-standing? Does that mean that the series has actually been profitable for Natsume? I don’t hear too much about these games from them but I don’t know if I could justify gifting something like this to a casual gamer or parent or whatever right now.

    • Well, they have been releasing this since i have memory… so i guess they are getting money from this

      Outside isn’t 3-D!

    • Don’t jinx it. Or we’ll get Lufia Fishing! *hides*

“Is any of this actually worth the 250+ system and cost of the cartridge?”

Somehow, I don’t think anyone expects that people will buy a 3DS just to play this game.

  • I found it funny how people thought it was Rune Factory Oceans when they started to hint this on twitter xD

  • BelmontHeir

Well, this looks…peaceful. Let’s hope it paves the way for Harvest Moon 3-D!

  • …Ugh Just give us a Sega Bass Fishing-esque game (either a sequel, a remake or a game just like it) for the 3DS.

  • Zero_Destiny

Meh I rather have a River King Fishing game instead. Those were fun. :D

  • just give us Harvest moon or Rune Factory
