Asphalt 3D on the Nintendo 3DS has a nice selection of cars to choose from. Gameloft are putting a total of 42 vehicles from 21 different manufacturers into the game. As the game’s Japanese publisher, Konami put thumbnail images of all 42 up on their website:

As far as tracks go, Asphalt 3D has 17 of those. Here’s a look at the overhead map for each location, along with its name:

A blue Ferrari, what travesty is this?

Cars choice is decent, but there are some important manufacturers missing. And why does every game have the Bugatti Veyron? That thing is like a bathtub on wheels.

… wait a second, Pisa is one of the tracks? I’ve got to buy this game. Even though it will look nothing like the real city, I bet.

Probably better to wait for some reviews first. I had Asphalt 2 on the PSP and it feels shallow, like the earlier mobile phone games for the symbian. When Burnout was on the PSP, the choice was obvious. I’m not quite sure how it’s evolved, though.

Uhm, where are Ford, Toyota, and Honda?! I want my Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta, my Toyota Yaris/Prius, and the Honda Accord. Furthermore this doesnt seem like we will be able to grab life by the horns.

The amount of cars has me tempted but it seems to lack the charm that Ridge Racer 3DS seemingly has.
