Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition Goes Limited With 3D Cover Art

By Ishaan . March 3, 2011 . 1:07pm

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is a Nintendo 3DS launch game all over the world. If you’re in the U.S., however, you’ll be able to pick up a limited edition version of the game if you pick up an early copy of the game, come March 27th.

The limited edition doesn’t have anything in the way of additional content, but it does come with a 3D cover. Capcom say that the 3D cover is only available on the first print copies of the game, so you’ll either have to pre-order or hope you can find a first-run copy at a store on launch day.

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition will have all 35 characters from the console versions of the game, and a new 3D mode that lets you play in an over-the-shoulder view. Capcom also gave the game optional customizable touchscreen functionality.

    As long as it doesn’t cost a lot more 3D covers might actually be a fun touch to some 3DS games opo;

    reminds me of oh so many stickers I use to put on my binder way back in 3rd grade. Its cool for sure but I really can’t muster up excitement for this release, having a PS3 and 360 (and Wii for Tatsunoko and SSB) I have played every great fighter this gen so portable versions of them doesn’t excite me much. Especially SF4 which I have played a ton of.

    All 3DS box arts should look like this.

    • Aoshi00

      They definitely should, I thought the Despicable Me 3D cover looked so cool w/ the 3D minions :) Actually they should give every 3DS game a 3D outer sleeve. Professor Layton and the sloppy cover art could learn a thing or two :P

        Y’know ‘Professor Layton and the Sloppy Cover Art’ sounds like it could be a title for a Layton game. Especially if they keep this cover art trend with the inevitable next 3DS Layton. XD

        • Aoshi00

          yea, what a missed opportunity, we could’ve been seeing Layton, Luke, and some balloons popping out… oh well, it’s hard to top, but the 6th game’s cover could use some simpler stick figures :)

    It’s still a $40 port of a superior $20 console game… ::shrug::

    Is this real 3D or just lenticular sleeve like Vanquish?
